my A partner

encouraged me to look for a site i could be a member of . As he was getting so much from the site he used. i was reading the post`s etc and just thinking of posting again . As now i can bore you rather than friends . i do not discuss my partner with my family anymore if i hear one more "end it ","he is no good" or the ever popular "walk away" if it was that easy i would have done it . i`m sure we have all had advice like that. Anyway i`m straying from my sybject. he is jealious of the attention i have given the site and the messages of welcome and support and that it is busy . so he has now gone off to his A.A. meeting to get the attention he needs and craves . he was thrilled to bits when i asked if he was off to a meeting." are you worried about me " . my partner is a such a boy sometimes . so he is sober for another day and for today thats enough . and if tomorrow its the same good and thank god . one thing i am a little worried about is the amount of chocolate he is eating  its loads & loads ,i love the stuff myself  and the coke that he drinks he will end up like a space hopper. i suppose that it will slow up as he grows emotionaly rather than physically. may be we will get fat and happy together , or in my case fatter!!!. joy to you all Mars

Don't worry too much about him being jealous of your time and attention - are you spending what YOU think is enough time with him?

You don't say how long he has been sober, or if there are drugs in the story as well as drink. It is very common for an addict to really crave sweets in the beginning stages of getting clean. If you ever have a chance to go to a rehab, check it out - there is candy everywhere!
If you are worried about his health or his weight from the sweets, there are healthier choices that will satisfy his cravings - diet pop, fruit juices, and my husband found that popsicles gave him what he needed, without all the added fat of chocolate.
This probably won't last too long, though. You can always go for a walk with him, we walk to our meetings together if the weather is nice.
