I arrived home last night after being gone a month! My mom and dad seem to be doing the best they can with their health problems. Thanks again for all your prayers. Prayers are what helped me to keep going with all my health problems too. I slept today until 4pm! I am very emotionally exhausted but glad I had all that time with my parents. I was able to reconnect with a new relationship with them after all these years of only seeing them so little by living so far away. I thank God for keeping them alive for me to be able to spend time with them and also to be there for them in their older years. My one brother is in Houston and has not talked to us for about 3 years now! Of course he didn't call during the hurricane either. It is his loss as I can see what loving, caring parents we truly have! I will chat when I can as the house needs alot of work.....LOL Leaving the cats and hubby here for a month seemed to have turned it into a cat house that needs alot of vaccuming and picking up :) I am happy and ready to get it back in order. I appreciate the health I do have compared to my parents and will put it on my gratitude list and enjoy my mental clarity (compared to alzheimers) and physical ability (compared to congestive heart failure) and do what I am capable of doing :) See you on the board and chat soon! your friend in recovery, cdb :)
i was wondering if you fell of the planet! I am so excited to hear that you had such a positive time with your parents! Once we get older, the relationship with them becomes as precious to us, as the one they had when we were so small. Being in Canada, I can so relate to your story, as this weekend is our Thanksgiving, and I am going home for the first time after getting back together with my A that I was seperated from for over 3 years, and am actually really excited. As I get older, I find I miss my dad more and more.
I am so glad you are back. I honestly did miss you! Looking forward to seeing you soon on MIP!
So glad to hear that your parents are doing better, and that you were able to come home. You have been missed. I look forward to chatting with you again.
Much Love,

I'm sure your parents feel just as fortunate to have you there to help them, and enjoyed having your time and attention. I know it's not easy seeing our parents sick, you done good girl. Welcome back :)
Welcome back, glad it went well with your parents.
Hon, the vacuuming can wait. Take the time to recover from your trip. Living in a house with 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 kids, I know there will be more hair tomorrow
Thank you so much for your warm supportive replies :) I am having another great day and feel so calm and serene! My daughter stopped by and I made her lunch and we had a nice visit. She left to go to her AA meeting and then to the new job she has that she loves. I feel so blessed today. I am enjoying these kind of days. They are long coming. I hope you all are able to find serenity and peace in your days too. If not, post and gain support here. It worked for me and there is hope! cdb :)
