FEAR

Fear controls me. I have a fear of my husband going out and getting drunk and or a dwi. I have a fear when he comes home we will fight. I have a fear of him leaving. I call him all the time in hope that he wouldn't get into any trouble. I know there is nothing I can do but the fear is still there. I have a fear when he walks out the door he wouldn't be back for many hours. I have learned that fear for him being gone for many hours and not knowing where he is. He disappears and I don't know where he is. That is also my fear.

I am trying to work on my fear but it is very hard.

Hi NYCBT

Fear is probably THE hardest emotion to overcome.  Try thinking of your reactions to any of the scenarios you fear, i.e. a dwi, and perhaps that will help put your fear back into perspective.  I told my a long time ago that if he ever got a dwi not to bother calling me, cause I won't come to his rescue.  That was my first step in learning to take care of me.

Take care of you.
