Doing things for myself

I had a job interview yesterday and I think it went well.  At least I hope it went well.  I also saw my doctor who refilled my medication.  I started back on my Prozac a few days ago and keep telling myself that it will take a little time (4-6 weeks) to fully get into my system.  My doctor mentioned that my high blood pressure, acid reflux and aches and pains are coming from the excess weight I have out back on.  I did really well today with starting to change my eating habits.  My doctor gave me anon-addictive appetite suppressant to help me eat less.  I am peeing every ten minutes from drinking so much water.  It gives me something else to focus on...me.

Today we took my oldest daughter to the movies and had a really nice time. My husband is still behaving very responsibly since I am not working.  He has begun working on Saturday to make extra money and told me not to take the first job that comes along.  He told me to take my time and choose a job I will really enjoy.

I feel so much better, but know that I have so so far to go.  I am confident that I can do it.  I have been reaching out to people that were once friends and it is wonderful to know that they are still friends.  I thought I would lose so many friends over this and was so ashamed.  They are supprotive and very kind.

My doctor mentioned that my high blood pressure, acid reflux and aches and pains are coming from the excess weight I have out back on.

Forgive me but there are many skinny, normal, average, large people who also have
acid reflux/hi blood pressure/ aches and pains.

You can lose all the weight you want and I guarentee you will still have all three.
To me a response like that is fat prejudice.

My last doctor, a woman, always said oh it is stress. yea right, i got a different doctor and
and found I had severe osteo-arthritis, some of my joints look like hamburger in
xrays. Found out later she NEVER tested me.

I don't trust doctors who just easily say stuff like this. I feel they are not taking
their patient seriously.

Anyway changing eating habits is great!! "think health." knowing the doctor gave you pills
for losing weight makes me doubt this person even more!! Our bodies do not need
med to stop our appitite!! Think about how strong it must be to do that.

Also if we told our A, well you are fat, high blood pressure, etc. so you must lose weight
here is a pill, do you think that would make them change?

IF you are ready to change habits and eat healthier, great. But if not, you will
be beating yourself up when you cannot cont. it. Like an A we cannot decide for them
when they are ready to quit drinking.

Anyway you sound great!! Proud of you.

As far as the med. It will take as long as it takes. I would not think about it. Let it
do its work and you just keep going!!! It usually comes on gradually and sooner than
you think.

Love,debilyn

I have tried the medicine before for weight loss.  My doctor has a whole diet program and hsa encouraged me to take vitamin and has written up an excercise plan for me and had me meet with his diatician.(? spelling)  You only take the medicine for a short time until you can change your eating patterns. I do feel better.
