Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say thank you, I really appreciate the sharing of experiences. I'm trying to determine if I will file for divorce from my alcoholic husband. We have an 8 year old and seeing the fear on her face when she knows he is drinking again is awful. She was happy when he left for rehab but now back home and several relapses later, I'm finally meeting with an attorney. Again, thank you all for your sharing, it helps so much.

(((KristinSD72))) that sounds like a really hard time. I think you will find a lot of people here who have gone through similar things to you. I hope you keep coming back.
(((Helpangel))) you said this "I feel like a single parent most of the time with him granting us with his company when he knows I'm pulling way or he wants too."
And I was thinking yes yes yes! That's exactly how it is. I feel like a single parent too and he just shows up when he feels like it and then I'm supposed to act like everything is totally fine and that I'm not sitting here seething inside because he's been off work for HOURS but won't come home and see the kids or me. And my son is asking for daddy and I tell him daddy's at work but I don't tell him daddy's been off work for hours and is just refusing to come home because he's busy drinking and that means more to him than we do. I don't say all that of course but when he gets older I won't be able to hide it from him.
