Update on "A"'s recovery

Well things have been going absolutely wonderful.  It has been over two weeks and my "A" has not had one drink and he has been in an exceptionally great mood.  We have never been closer and we are spending a lot more quality time with eachother and our son.  We watch movies every night and read every morning and talk about things.  He has been very busy working and finances are picking back up.  Thank goodness becuase it looked like we were going to lose our house for a little while there.  I know it has only been a couple weeks and things could still go up and down.  But I am really enjoying our time right now.  We are Christians that go to church every Sunday and when things started to get really bad I started noticing that it seemed like he was falling away from God, but now he reads the bible every morning again and he is burying himself in his faith again.  Things couldnt be better and we are so excited about the birth of our daughter in December and that in itself doesnt seem so overwelming to me anymore because I feel that I will actually have some help now.  Of course, unless he starts drinking again but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.  Well I just wanted to tell all of you how things were going.  I'll keep ya posted.

Sounds great Kimmie....

Is he working a program of recovery at all?  One thought, as I read your post, is he might find himself to be more receptive to some of the recovery tools available to him, via AA....  If it were me in your shoes, I might just "inadvertently" leave a copy of the Big Book around, somewhere where he would see it, and who knows - he may read it with interest!!

Take care

T

Kimmie, thanks for the update.  It is such a great feeling to read a post where things are working out.  It sounds like your family is on the way to healing.  How wonderful that you have God in your lives and that your husband is reading the Bible and working on himself.  I do wish my A would get closer to his HP, and I will Praise the Lord when that day comes as it will be truly a miracle for this family.  Love and prayers, Annie
