Only One LIfe

With several of us experiencing ill health ourselves, or that of loved ones, and with the events down in the Southern US, I think this is a good time to remember that life can be taken from us at any time.
I don't know what comes after but I do know that we have this life, and it may be all we get. Do we want to spend it fretting over the choices of someone else, waiting for someone else to get better so we can start to live? Smelling breath, hunting for hidden bottles, waiting by a dark window for a car to pull up - this is not how God meant me to live my only life here on earth.
It's time to hug your kids, take your dog for a walk, eat a big chocolate brownie, and go dancing.

HI Lin

This is a great post and outlook on life.

I am so grateful to this program and all that I have learned.

I am again able to LIVE my life, not try to control the uncontrollable, my husbands drinking.

excellent reminder!

Great post!!!

I think we too often get all wrapped up in details that will work themselves out anyway, my self included.
Last week I colddn't quit thinking about my daughter's health and my Aunt in Biloxi.
This week, it's mostly all OK. I need to remind myself "this too shall pass". It may not be the outcome that I want, but it is the outcome in HP's plan. Worry doesn't change a thing.

I'm getting better though about those smaller things. I used to calculate them them all and add them together with the big stuff to keep a running total. This is wrong, that is wrong, along with all this stuff.
I no longer sweat the small stuff. Cuz that's all small stuff :) Most of it wasn't even mine to sweat anyway.
It's the bigger stuff I need to learn let go of, and know that it will all be resolved somehow.

Thank you Lin, I will have a fret free day today:) What a great reminder to put things into perspective. It's a holiday and a day off, what could be better.

Thanks again,

Whitie

Lin,

Thanks for this post. It's a great reminder about how much today is a gift to me. And, it helps me to feel joyful that I have the option of living my life joyfully and in agreement for what my HP wants for me. I have spent too many days in my past wishing things were different and not enjoying the now. I can do it different today.

Love and hugs,
Jessi
