KATRINA DISASTER..... Where are our hearts?

I know that we all have our problems and pain deep within us, but when we look at the world around us with all the tragedy that is occuring, particularly in New Orleans we should all really be thankful for what we do have--- food, our health in most cases, a roof over our head and most importantly a life in which we can make choices to do what is GOOD, HEALTHY, and BEST for us to survive in a peaceful state.   Unlike, all of these thousands of people who have NO CHOICE but to deal with their tragedy and tribulation in their life.  We have a choice and maybe once we can begin to focus on what is REALLY important in this world for all of us to love eachother, we can all make the world a better place.

I watch the news with the families and young children who are greatly affected by this act of nature and realize ONE thing.   My focus has been WAY too much on myself, my children, my past unhealthy relationships----  there are people dying who really treat people kindly, with respect, compassion and love, yet I think of myself and how consumed I am with loving people who are selfish, hateful, full of anger and turn it towards me and others, all while that love could be shared with people who REALLY appreciate it.....  So, is it REALLY about loving the person that is unhealthy in our lives because if that were the case and we needed to love, we would have that love for others and push aside our emotions.  Or is it more about our NEED to love so deeply so that subconsciously we hope that love is returned.

My prayers are with all the families affected by Katrina... for their health, safety and strength offered by God to just survive through this tragedy.   I can definitely say that I am certainly glad I am NOT in a relationship with an a, or any other unhealthy person because looking back to the time I was in those relationships, I was oblivious to the REAL tragedies occuring all around us, as well as to the people who REALLY appreciate the love others offer them.

Hello Sanddie,

My prayers are there with all of them too continually. I am still saying prayers for you too and your family. Who knows why these things happen. I feel so helpless for those people. All we can do for now is pray and hope God can be there and do what he can. your friend, cdb

My prayers are with the victems too.

Their hardship sure puts my own problems in perspective.

My company is setting up a relief fund for them and will match our contribution.

My sister from texas has been sent to the area by her company to help. She had shots for malaria and hepatitis and is working long days.

what a terrible tragedy

cdb and megan:

I hope all is going well/or at least you have peaceful days despite the chaos---   Thank you for the prayers cdb, as my prayers are ALWAYS focused on the tragedy that we all struggle with in various forms-- personal, business, social, political or any realm really.   I certainly know that ANY struggle that we are faced with is definitely Satan's way of keeping us from either discovering our relationship with God OR an attempt to misconceive our perception of who God is and how He is love and not evil.  Of course, it's simple for Satan to do also because God is known to create us, the earth, life as we know it, but what most people who haven't come to discover God yet are often easily influenced by spiritual warfare because they are not strong in their position of who God is yet.   I remember when I was there, questioning who God is and how He can love me because I THOUGHT I was unworthy of His love.  When the truth is we are NEVER unworthy of His love and as long as Satan can keep up believing we are not worthy, we will continue to hurt and feel pain deep in our hearts, making our lives a miserable existence.

I personally have renounced Satan several times in my life and will continue to do so.  There is ONLY one way to me and that is through God.  So that is where my prays are daily....   To allow God to strengthen the armor he has given me to continue to resist adversary.

Take Care and may God continue to give you both peace and strength in all you do.
