taking care of me

Fabulous haircut

Last Friday I got my very long hair cut. It was long and boring and I always had it pulled back

I asked a woman at work whose hair always looks great who she used and made an appointment with the same lady.

She chopped off ALOT and now I have a style to my hair and I love it.

Before I met my husband 14 years ago I always had my hair styled.

Then the long years of not caring crept in. The depression and I can't be bothered set in.

Alanon has taught me to take care of myself again, and for that, I am very grateful

You got me thinking this morning about taking care of myself. I feel like I have been taking care of everyone in the house for awhile (just part of life) and wanted to splurge on ME. I had found a wonderful musician that her music really spoke to me. I decided that I was going to get the two cds that have been bookmarked for over a month as a treat to me. :O)

My sponsor told me this week that part of working the Program is not forgetting to have fun. So this weekend I am going to the State Fair w/my sister and another friend. I am leaving my A behind and fortunately he has agreed that I need to get out and enjoy myself. :O) If anyone is looking for me, I can be found by the cheese curd stand! lol

Awesome Megan! I did the same thing after over 10 years of having long curly hair. I have a short stylish bob now and I feel better than ever! Who knew that your hair could drag you down so much?

Keep taking care of you! (((HUGS)))

Megan,

Wonderful that you are giving 'presents' to yourself. I, too, very recently (like 2 weeks ago) began treating myself to simple pleasures -- for the first time in my 52 years on this planet, I had a professional manicure and pedicure. Love it!

In taking good care of ourselves, not only do we feel better, but we have more to offer others as well.

Barb

Great!!!  Megan.

Little by little in this we forget about the little things that we do for ourselves and I think that it is so great when I here members really going and doing the things for them selves that make them feel better.

I love getting my hair done but also from the stylist point of view. After I am done cutting or coloring someones hair and they absolutly love it and feel so good about them selves it is such a tremendous feeling I get.  It's so rewarding.  Thanks for the reminder!!!  I really need a DO for my self.

Take care

JJ

I too have learned to take care of me.  Eating right, some excercise (situps and butt lifts) Mon-Friday, hair cuts and color, keeping my nails shaped.  It is fun to enjoy me again.  Congrats!!!!

Hi Thanks for all the responses!

I am on quite an improvement program physically and spiritually. It is good to see other members taking care of themselves.

I have never had a manicure or pedicure, but I will.

I am riding my bike daily and being careful about what I eat and losing weight that needs to come off.

It was so hard at first, strange even, but I'm liking it

((((((((((Megan))))))),

LOL I must have been in your head when I was responding to cdb's prayer request. I told her to take care of her when she was done.

3 Years ago I went and had my hair cut (it needed it desperately) and dyed (something I always wanted to do but could not justify the cost) Oh what a treat! I continue to do it as well. My "A" says he notices a change in my feminity after I do it. I do it becase it makes me feel good.

Good for you on taking care of you.

Much Love,
