" Both Sides of the Fence " Aug. 25

Hello (((((All)))))

Since I haven't posted for abit and there are many new members (((((Welcome,  you're in a great place ))))), I thought that I should give a brief introduction of myself.

I am a recovering Alcoholic since Oct. 15, 2001 and my husband is a very active Alcoholic, and I found Alanon and this site about 3 months ago.  The improvements & changes I see in myself are AMAZING & INCREDIBLE in such a short time.  This program, site, willingness to change, an open mind and the Grace of my Higher Power whom I call GOD.

I try to post articals, meditations and personal experiance, strenght & hope from the eyes of an alcoholic.  I do this because all 12 Step programs tell you that "you must give away what we have so generously received.  In other words, I must shall & am very willing to share what I know and have experianced so that others might learn from me.

Many AlAnon people have told me that it helps them to hear & understand from the alcoholics point of view.  I hope you too will enjoy them & maybe even get something out of them.

AA - 24 Hours a Day Book - Aug.25 - Meditation for the Day

Never yield to weariness of the spirit.  At times, the world's cares and distractions will intrude and the spirit will become weak.  At times like this, carry on and soon the spirit will become strong again.  God's spirit is always with you, to replentish and renew.  None ever sincerely sought God's help in vain.  Physical weariness and exhaustion make a time of rest and communion with God more necessary.

When you are overcome by temporary conditions which you cannot control, keep quiet and wait for the power of the spirit to flow back.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may not speak or act in the midst of emotional upheaval.  I pray that I may wait until the tempest is past.

God Bless Us ((((((All))))))

Yours in Recovery

((((((((((((((Kathy))))))))))))))))),

I have been very fortunate to read your posts over the past few weeks. I always get something out of them. I think the insight you have is very useful for me. Your perspective has already helped me so much. When I read your posts, I have been able to take a step back and see things from my "A"s point of view. I can never thank you enough.

Much Love,
