Homeless on the 5th

I have just found out I will be evicted from my apartment on the 5th as I have no money left. I will be moving to parts unknown as yet...I'm a free agent. If anyone has connections to get me to a safer start where you are, please post! Thank you [[[ room ]]]

I work in homeless services in NY, where are you and maybe I can try and help.  In NY, when a 72 hour notice is posted by the sheriff, you can bring that to the local Department of Social Services and they must place you in shelter.  I am not sure if this applies in your state. Again let me know and I will try to help. God Bless.

Kim,

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and that law does not apply. As this is one of unkindest cities to the homeless, I am better off anywhere else! if you are homeless here and look at someone the wrong way, you can be held in jail for up to a month without trial.

my friend haxi

Hax I don't know you face to face. So this may be off the wall. Have you looked
into in home care for room and board? We always have a need for that and I bet a big place
like where you live has a need too.

Have you called disabled services? I cannot imagine with your diagnosis what in
the world is going on that you have not gotten any SS. Has a doctor labeled you
100% disabled? If not, it is probably time to get it done. It may be what makes it so
darn hard to work. I would imagine it would be impossible!!!

I am a JW so cannot have a man come stay here sadly. Plus no jobs here.

Another job is where you live in a home that is situated with storage units. My friends do
that and love it. The Capital Press has oodles of jobs, like living out in a cabin or farm
and keeping an eye on the place. Some people have cattle or whatever and just want
someone to be there in case.

If you are going to be homeless, then for petes sake move to Florida or somewhere
else where it is warm. Do you have somewhere to store your stuff until you can
figure out what to do?

Have you checked out working at Goodwill or a large video store?

Like I said I only know what you have posted.

Maybe disabled services can hook you up with someone who needs a little help?

If you can, if you are without your computer, please go to a library and keep in touch.

Haxi can you send an address to me private or maybe general delivery
somewhere so if I have some extra bucks I can send some to you??? Please
haxi, allow me this. I have been homeless as you know. At least I had my barn and
dogs to keep me warm!!

Don't give up Haxi..

Go to your pschiatrist and tell them what is happening.

Your landlord has to go to court and file an FED to get you out. They can give you all the
notices they want, but they have to go to court to make it stick...

please send me an address. love to my brother haxi. [oo] yours, debilyn

RE: Homeless on the 5th

Mike,

Be aware that I know there are a LOT of people in the chatroom and on this board who have you in their prayers right now.  I do.  I know you are a strong person and will get through this.

Hi Hax,

I am so sorry to hear of your difficulties!

If you were a woman I could help you set up a home day care easily, as that was my job a while back and you are in Ohio, where I am, so I know the laws here inside and out.

Unfortunately, most people will feel uncomfortable with using a man as a home day care worker, like Debilyn pointed out.

I HAVE heard of men who work in day cares though, in a structured setting, so many kids need a male role model.  Are you good with kids?

Here in NE Ohio where I live, in the Cleveland area, there are a lot of social service agencies to help people in your predicament.  They help with job training also.

What do you do?  If you let me know I can tell you what jobs are available in my area for what you do.  Have you applied for Section 8 housing?  You pay your rent according to your income on that program, it is really great and reliable.

I hope things work out, write me if anything I wrote sounds like it would help you and you are interested in it.

I'm so sorry to hear of your situation. That's such a shame that nothing can be done to help you.

\I did like the idea of looking into watching a farm , or staying with an older man, or watching animals. That's a chance for a place to stay and soem extra money.

I wish I still had my rental property. We had to sell it when My hubby lost his job.

I know you are a spiritual person. Put this in the hands of you HP. Do the legwork of course, but put it in HIS hands. I bet you will find something to do to keep from being totally on the streets.

In my town we have a homeless shelter...2 in fact. One does not take single men but the other does. It's even like a rehab with lots of chances for men to get training and jobs and better themselves. it's called the Boulware center. It might even have a web site with info. I never looked.

Know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Today I have an all day faculty meeting called a "prayer day". we will start the day with MASS. I will offer up my Mass for YOU today and keep you in my prayers while we have our special day. Most of the time we have oral special intentions...I will ask for the intentions for my freind in Ohio.

Dear Haximon,

My Prayers are with you during this difficult time.  As you know, I live in Canad so our " Rules & Laws " are alot differant.

The one thing I do know is that if you go to your local politician, if you are diables - go to the papers if you have to.  Politicians would probable love to get incolved if the want good news in the papers.  I have had several friends  I know do that & it worked.

I like what someones reply said about you doing the legwork but turn it over to your HP.  Remeber you can stay in touch with us through the library computers so please keep us informed as we all care about you.     ((((((((Haximon))))))))

God Bless you

Yours in Recovery

Haxi my dear friend,

I am not so empty today and the part that has something there will say prayers for you tonight. There are so many things we do not understand like alcoholism or HPs perfect timing. I will try to stay strong in my faith today and know that there is a plan for you that none of us is aware of yet. Hope is back in me somewhere. We need to have hope. cdb

Dearest Mike,

I saw your post .  I am so sorry that things have come to this. I earnestly wish there was something that I could do for you. My thoughts and deepest prayers are always with you. If it is  at possible please stay in touch. Maybe you could look into becoming a live in male companion for an elderly fellow. Just a thought. Pay may not be great but at least you'll have a roof over your head. Good luck Mike.

Love & God Bless
