I'm so grateful

hey guys

i am so grateful for all of you.  reading all of your posts gave me lots of ideas and reminded me to go back to my program.  After i posted, i decided to walk on my treadmill and take a shower and i felt better.  i prayed and thought of all of the things i was grateful for and it helped.  i took my kids swimming and watched them and realized i am a lucky person just having them.  i worked on my longterm plan of going back to school.  the baby steps are the hardest b/c i want everything now and i have to take it easy and let my hp lead me.  no matter what i want he has the plan for me.  reading your words of encouragement really brought me out of the darkness and iam thankful more than words can say.  i know i will go back to them many many times when i forget to stay focused.  All of you helped and i think it is so awesome that you even take the time to respond to me!!!!!  And dori dont even worry about yelling at me, i took no offense, truly.  you guys take it easy

Browneyes,

It sounds to me that you are beginning to focus on the blessings in your life, and that's the way to go :)

When we start walking the spritiual path only then do we begin life's journey.  When we seek to discover our spiritual selves we realize that we as humans are here to learn specific lessons.  With each lesson learned we advance in our spirituality and can move on to the next lesson.  Most of them are not easy lessons but the rewards are great once we see them and deal with them.

When I came to Alanon, I was full of pain as most of us are.  I've used Alanon as a stepping stone to find my way.  I am now at a place in my spirituality that I can sometimes look at the chaos around me and think "this is just human stuff"...and I rise above because my spiritual growth is the growth that comforts me.

I guess I should say this is my personal take on spiritual growth, some may disagree.  Take what you like and leave the rest.

Hi (((((((julie)))))))))

Boy, I totally agree with your post!!  Thank goodness for everyone here!!!  I can come in feeling moody and it never fails that someone will say something to remind me of what I have to be grateful for and get me thinking.  Takes me out of my "stinking thinking".  Helps me to look at things from different perspectives.

Glad you're here, glad we're all here!!!

Luv, Kis

Hello julie,

It is amazing how what you read inspired you and what you posted inspired me :) I needed a little inspiration here just now. Babysteps is right. Patience helps too. All the alanon tools help but we sure need to be reminded don't we? I said today that sometimes my mind has a mind of it's own LOL. This message board sure helps us to put the focus back on us and does give us encouragement and great ideas! Thanks for your post. your friend in recovery, cdb :)
