Know what I think about fear? I think it's a great big coward. Sure some fear has a bit of a big head and shows itself openly, but for the most part, I have found that fear likes to hide behind other emotions. It knows how ugly and worthless it is so it doesn't like to make public appearances is my guess.
Take anger; if someone cuts you off on the road, are you angry? or deap down are you scared you might crash?
Take stress; When you cant pay the bills, are you stessed? or are you scared cause you don't know how your gonna survive?
Or hurt; when someone doesn't like you, are you hurt? or maybe hurt and afraid that you wont have any friend and will be all alone in life.....
You don't like the dress your wearing? or is it more that your afraid of what others might think?
Dont want to make that gourmet meal from the magazine for dinner? or is it that your afraid you wont make it the right way and the hubby wont like it......
I think that fear is a normal natural feeling. In adam and eve time, it probably kept people alive. Maybe they were too scared to kill the tiger, so they went after the little bunny for dinner instead, thus protecting their lives.
What i'm getting at is this. For me, just realizing how much fear i really have, i am focusing on admitting it's there, sifting through it all, and then to stop cheating myself of the little things I didn't even realize i was afraid of...... I think i'll go bungie jumping this weekend........
Digging down to find that fear is a chore! In he layers and layers of things I think pride lays right over that fear. Once I'm able to actually get all the way down to the fear it's not so bad after all. It's chipping through that pride layer that always gets me.
Bunji jumping?? We now I've got something else to tunnell through....am I worried about my friend dangling from a rope?? Is it fear or am I just jealous of your courage
