Hubby home from treatment

Hello friends,


It was suggested to me that I post here to get some feedback. My husband was just discharged from a 28 day treatment program called Homewood.  He told me that he was getting out today (Thursday a.m.)but in fact got out on Wed. evening.  It was suggested to me that this is common and that the "a" feels the need to just be somewhere safe other than home on the first day of release.  Does anyone have any experience with this or any thoughts at all on it.


Your help would be appreciated.

I am so sorry you haven't heard anything yet. Thanks for keeping us updated. If it were me, after a certain period of time, I would certainly file a missing person's report or attempt to locate as they call it. WE had to do the attempt to locate on our daughter once when she just dissappeared. She was okay but we didn't know if she was and the police were very supportive and friendly to us. We did find out later (in treatment during family share) that she had just left her job and responsibilities and driven to friend's places who use and she DID drink and do drugs during those 4 days. They asked the places we thought she may be and wrote down those people's names etc. She in fact had been at those places but the day we filed the attempt to locate report, we got a call from her that night. She still lied about where she as but we at least we knew she was alive. You need to do what you decide is the appropriate thing and keep coming to us for support. I will keep you in my prayers. cdb

Do your best to let the program work for you, try to hand it over, sweetie.  Whatever HP has in mind, he knows best.

Hockey,

If professionals from the treatment center or people who work with alcoholics in treatment told you it is common for an A to need some time before coming home, it's likely that is true. However, if you are concerned that your hubby is missing, perhaps you could check in with the center again to see what they think. Hopefully, he is still in recovery and just trying to sort his head out.
