amazing chain of events

Today I was feeling unsure about the way face to face was going. As many of you know I go to meetings with my sister in law and I have been feeling that she was uncomfortable with the alanon meetings and knew she was leaning towards naranon and we have been supportive of each other searching for a meeting that is best for both of us. Well the search hasn't been going that good.

Well.....

We have developed a love for these caramel coretto coffees that are at second cup and we decuided to go get coffee before the meeting. There are 2 one at the hospital and one a block away well my sister inlaw drove to the one with a drive through and we ordered our coffees and when we got to the window to pay the girl informed us that the lady infront of us had payed for our coffees (brought tears to my eyes and made me think of a post here about the same thing). Any way it lifted our spirits and it was so nice!!!

so we proceeded to the meeting that we had picked for today and when we got there we had realized that it was not the meeting we thought it was "Adult children" so we were going to go to it anyhow and eventually decuided that no we would go to this other one. So we went and found it to be "the one" we were comfortable we both had this feeling and others incommon with. I am happy, releaved and excuited!!!

HP was looking after us. Had the sequences of events gone different we would not have made it to this meeting and never would have found what I am feeling like is going to be our home meeting. Also the one woman that was so nice is familiar with this board which made me feel more comfort. Thank you thank you!!

My sister in law and I have also decuided to "pay it forward" next tuesday and i hope that our choice to do so will affect the person recieving "it" will have the great effects that we did.

Well to sum it up tonight was absolutly wonderful and who ever the lady was that gave us that gift I hope she knows how greatful I am.

Wow, "Pay it Forward" is such a neat concept anyway and what better place to use it than with AL-Anon.  Great insight, JJ!  I'm glad you had the wonderful night you had, it gives us all hope to know your HP is looking out for you and that you gave the praise to him for providing it for you.

Hi JJ,

What a great story! Your Hp sure was looking after you. It really makes you realize that we are not in charge but sometimes need to step out of the way and let Him do his work.

Last night I went to a new meeting too, yet it ended up being an "adult children" meeting so I didn't go either.

I am looking into a Friday night one that will hopefully be regular alanon

JJ,

I am very you had a good experience at a face to face meeting and may have found a home group. I absolutely love my home group and get very sad when I can't make it to that particular meeting. I also love the idea of paying for someone else's order anonymously. I'm going to try it out soon!

Love and hugs,
Jessi

Yes, it's amazing sometimes how we think we are lost....but somehow we end up where we are supposed to be/get....or we get the same comfort we set out to seek, but in another way.

I ended up getting lost trying to find an open mtg., but went ahead and turned back, walked in at the tail end, welcomed --not thrown out, and then "boom" there in the speaker's last 15 min. of speaking was what I needed to hear.  (And I could have given up and gone home, but I decided to "turn back" and "try again")

Gosh, don't you wish that you could let that coffee buying person know how wonderful he/sh is?

Just as the movie Pay It Forward intends, that kindness rippled out like a pebble in water.  I absolutely love that movie.

I've paid for the person behind me too, it feels great.  I hope it affected those people in the same way, and they chose to pay it forward too.

Very cool!

You know last night was teriffic and not for just me but my sister in law too and I thought further of about it and remembered a time when I was in the right place at the right time and ended up paying for a girls gas when she had lost her bank card and didn't know what to do. She cried and asked if she could hugg me( of course) she did appreciate it and I wonder if she had ever done the same for another.

Mark I am glad that my story could bring a smile to you. Seems that you have good spirit and that is great! You can still smile when things don't look great and that brings me insperation. I will be thinking of your smile when I am feeling down and knowing that I can still smile too. TY

Pay it forward is a great concept and wonderful for all of us here! Yes Christy I do wonder if the woman new how it would affect us? It not only makes the person giving feel great but the person recieving fell great, one of thoes win win situations!!!!!
