Little Progress not Perfection thing I noted today

Ran into a Dale Carnegie graduate that was in a class that I was Grad assisting last fall and while we were talking he mentioned something negative about a mutual acquaintance (another grad) and then stopped and said oops guess I’m not doing very well as I already forgot the 3 C’s (for Carnegie its criticize, complain or condemn). I asked him a year ago, would you have caught this slip? He laughed and said no I would have continued till I made myself look the fool in trying to convince you he was.
Progress is not perfection. Geeze do I test the waters on that one, lol. I may fall down occasionally, may I not let my slips or failures hinder my course. Kinda a nice reminder for me today.

(yea I went to people pleasing classes) lol

Not gonna be smiling if I don’t get back to work lol

Thanks for sharing, Mark!  Progress not perfection is my favorite Al Anon saying too.

Hello Mark,

Thanks for sharing that. I hope that people are also becoming familiar with alcoholism. With my daughter's name being in the paper so much lately for minor in consumption and disorderly conduct, I really do wish that many of the readers that know me will understand that she may have a problem and not just be a trouble maker. But then again, what they think is none of my business. Got that family meeting tomorrow with daughter at the treatment center. Why am I getting nervous when I know better than to only think of the here and now and take one day at a time. Well,,you probably said it in your post. Progress, not perfection. cdb
