Wow...I am so humbled by your kindness and candor...

Thank you all so very much for your heartfelt honesty and warm welcome. You truly made me feel welcome and comfortable - in such a way that I haven't felt in years.

As I'm sure you all know - having kids can change your life. Being involved with an alcoholic changes it further. Separating from or divorcing an alcoholic spouse makes the changes even more pronounced - and seems to drive the wedge between you and the rest of the world wider and wider. For me, I haven't felt as if I was accepted by my friends and/or peers in many, many months - perhaps even years. And in less than the past 12 hours, I was absolutely surrounded by support here. Though I'm just getting started, your responses were a very positive catalyst for me. It's as if I can feel my self-esteem re-grouping and recovering a little bit. On that note, this is a wonderful community and I thank you for letting me be a part of it.

I hope to begin chatting more often - but right now I'm off to get my oldest two children to bed. Thankfully, the baby fell asleep in the car tonight! Score one for me!

Thanks again and I'll be in touch soon!

Best,

~ Becca.

Hi Becca, that is great news. I felt the same when I first arrived. It is a wonderful community and there is so much to gain from being a member of it, and I add you have so much to give to this family too [even if you do not believe it or see it].

You are now family, and work in progress, just the same as everyone else in this family. This place is for you. We are blessed by having you here. Keep coming back.

Heartbroken.

Becca, we may not totally agree with one another all the time.  I am a bit of a maverick who "tells it like it is," and my expressed viewpoint, while always offered with love, is sometimes harsh. But because we share one common thread, there is unconditional love amongst us.   We are happy to have you.  Come back often; there is always kindness, love, and understanding waiting.

All best,

Diva
