RE: Heroin addicts

Hello Allie and welcome , the best way I know to help someone we love is to find our own program and learn all we can about this disease and how it affects us .  Until we stop doing for them what they should be doing for themselves absolutley nothing will change . except you will go a little crazier.  Anything we try is doomed to fail because it is not our problem to solve , it's thiers.
there is a program called Naranon , it is a 12 step program like Al-Anon where u will find the support u need and understanding . If you don't find a naranon in your area please try  Al-Anon meetings for yourself . u need support. This is not your problem to fix leave it with the A where it belongs.  Accept that you are powerless over the choices your A makes , you are not powerless over your own lifeor the decissions u make . good luck   Louise

Dear Allie,

Any addiction is hell to handle, there is a lot of help and information here. I can assure you that anything you are feeling most of us have felt it as well.

Addiction kills, it steals souls, spirits and life. I pray for recovery for your brother and your family.

I hope you find the help you need for you, just remember to breathe, take it one day at a time one minute at a time if you need to.

Andrea
