THE FOG HAS CLEARED

(((((((((((((((Yo Roomies))))))))))))))

You all know I had opened a face to face group a few months ago (5 months already).

Well It started off really good, got about 6 or 7 every week. I had not been commiting for the last few weeks. The members took a "Group decision" and were going to take it to the district. (this was unknown to me). I then spoke to a member and I said to her, I will think about it. Have my circumstances changed (yeah i was happy.lol)

Anyway I considered this. I decided NO, I had opened this meeting against some negative attitudes. Against all odds, It was a hit. The last few weeks have been slow, but so what. If we get 2 members, we got 2 people who have let off some worries. So, I decided I was going to commit myself to the meeting. It's a trait we got, determination.lol

Tonight we had "TEN" members. WOW after the week I have had, that made me "very happy", I couldn't stop smiling. I know I had been right to open this meeting. I slipped away from It. But now my Fellowship Is back In my life again. First priority...for "ME" and Alanon...

Wooohooo....Us al-anoners don't have to win the lottery to smile...lol

Congrats Ally. Good going.

I have been thinking of starting a new meeting in my town too, but need to have a reliable vehicle before I make a commitment. That'll give me time to work out the when and where.

Also meetings tend to have slumps sometimes. No big deal. I take the same attitude you have, If we have 2, we have a meeting.

sounds great- you seem very strong minded. i wish i could find others who have older kids like early 20s to help with my situation-- my sons 24 and i dont know what is wrong or right- my husband yells at my for my decissions -because they r different than his-- i really need to get away from son and husband to find myself so much has happened-- my 15 yr old daughter wont have anything to do with moving- for it would be from a house to an apartment-- soooo confussed. anyway-- great job your doing--

i'm thinking also about the start a meeting thing. don't know where to start. i'm irish, living in france. my language skills are improving but not anywhere near understanding others shares. (thanks for the encouragement blessed)
not sure even where to start with a venue etc. the whole wine thing is big here but very moderate. there are so few meetings listed for the whole of france.
congrats on your sucess! it's inspiringsmile
