HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!

((((((Family))))))))),

Just wanted to take a moment to wish all of you (who are in the right hemisphere) HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL! This can only mean one thing: THE GREAT PUMPKIN IS COMING NEXT MONTH! w00t.gif  I'm in the North East, and the leaves are starting to turn, the apples are getting ripe (suppose to be one of the best years), it's cool in the morning and football is in full swing. w00t.gif   Ahh..... can't wait till it gets really cold so I can make great big pots of chili and soup.  Hubby is off fishing this morning and I so want to go with him.  But I have to work.  But I went the other morning and it was heaven.

It's a beautiful time of year.  Take a few minutes to stop and enjoy the view.  HP in all it's glory.  Have a beautiful Sunday no matter where you are.  Love and blessings to all.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty sun.gif

Happy First day of fall to you too ((((Karilynn)))

Since it is fall now, it is my favorite time of the year!smile

I love to go hiking in the fall.  It gets a bit too warm here in Texas in the summer for me to go the long walks out in "the wild".

I am sooooooo with you on the football, chili and soup too!!!

Have a wonderful fall everyone!

Yours Still in Recovery,
David

While I lived in southern CA, the coming of fall was more like a pleasant "smell" in the air than something you could see. Up here, it's so much more dramatic! And there is a feeling in the woods around the house . . . things are quieting down, the "engines" of nature are slowing and going underground.

We have more evergreen trees than the deciduous kind, but our mountain maples do turn a gorgeous yellow for a while.

It's sort of like the whole environment is saying "Whew! Almost time to go to bed!"

Hi Karilynn...lovely post.  It all sounds so wonderful...cool weather, cooking, fishing.  And this year partner and I have decided to do a lot of soup cooking for the freezer.  I am looking forward to that.  He is a great cook.  I stand around and watch!!

Leaves don't change much in south Texas.  One day green, the next day, dead on the ground. Once in a while we get lucky, especially up in the Hill Country, and we will get to see some color.  I remember at home the maple leaves.  Some bright yellow, some bright red.  Gorgeous!  The chestnuts fell, and as kids, we would gather them and have chestnut fights.  A person could get hurt!  But somehow, no one did.

But I must say, I am a summer girl.  Born and reared on the ocean beach, summer is in my blood.  I was born on the hottest day of the year in which I was born; we will not elaborate on that.  But I will tell you this;  the hospital was NOT air conditioned!!  And people smoked in the rooms.  How long ago was THAT????

I will be sorry to see summertime fade away.  I stay cold from the first cool night until the warmth of Spring arrives once again.  On the other hand, I am happy to be here no matter what the weather.

Thanks for the post.

Much love to you, Tim, and Pipers kitty too.

Karily n,

Love the fall so much. It is getting colder here in Arizona (the moutainous part). It rained all last night. The leaves are starting to turn. I made fried green tomatoes and apple crisp today. Planning my annual picnic in the mountains with my 2 dogs. OMG my cat Spot finally came inside. She spent most of the summer outside because she is afraid of strangers (my son came home for the summer). She is sitting in my lap sleeping. Sweet. Life is good.

Happy fall is right.

Heard an interesting talk on Fall, the seasons and the circle of life this weekend.  I was also reminded me that the equinox has a special meaning as it shows how my HP brings everything into balance for on these days there is equal amount of light and darkness.

It's interesting that from the balance of the equinox springs the brilliance of fall foliage or the renewal of so many things in nature.  These are the season's of change.

Wow, I hate change or should I say, I'm change challenged?  Maybe I'm starting to soften that stance in recovery.  :)

Bob
