Definition of insanity ... expanded

((((((((Everyone))))))))

Today I am feeling a lot of gratitude, for you, this program and for life in general.  Over time I have noticed that the tools I have used to simply keep me off the edge of the bridge... has enriched every corner of my life.

I have only been in the program for a year and a half, so I have so very much to learn... but I notice changes all the time.  So here is the latest....

I had become very isolated before I got here, driven away all my close friends and most of my family because I was just consumed with my life "full of issues".  That applied even to my children, which I will be making up for til my last breath.  I had even lost contact with me....

As you all have helped me see that much of what I fought over and tried to fix was better suited for a power greater than me, a strange thing started to happen.  I found time for my kids, then some old friends... and just over the past few months I have made some new friends that are an absolute blessing to me.

Even my relationship with you all has changed.  18 months ago.... you were here to save me from myself... *smile*  Then you became part of my family.  I will always feel that way about you... and love you all in a special way.

So that definition of insanity.... doing the same things over and over, yet expecting the outcomes to change...  That applies to so much more that my relationship with my wife.

When I stop walking in that cloud of dispair, start to look up and see the wonders of this world, open up to a new friend... life changes.  All of a sudden I am unable to count the blessings any more.... they are like the stars....

I still fall back in that hole from time to time, but I have learned from you how to get out so much quicker now... and I am not afraid of falling in any more.  Don't go looking for it, LOL ... But I just know I will be ok.

Just for today... I am thankful for the blessings of my friends and family, and how they enrich my life...

Take care of you!

My wish for you is to always have in hand a helium ballon so that when you misstep and fall in the hole, you always float right to the top again.  :)

This is a nice post rtexas. I know what you mean about falling in that hole, I seem to be in that hole lol so hopefully I'm filling it up and you'll walk past ;)
Here's what I wish for you:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

((rt)),
Yeppers, that post sure does explain how this beautiful program can work for us, if we work it.

It is so neat to look back and see the growth that has taken place in those that have been here for a while.

To the newcomers, all things are possible. We just need to believe and be willing to do things differently.

Glad you are here rt.

Yours in recovery,
Mandy

Such a great refreshing post of gratitude.  I also appreciate you and all that you have brought to this board.  It is so wonderful when the insanity breaks and the rays of the sun can shine through.  I wish you every good thing that your heart desires.
Keep looking up and those blessings will continue to find you.

Peace,
Twinmom~
