Still here... a quick update

(((MIP Friends)))

I have not had much time to post lately.  Things at work have picked up since the kids went back to school.  The financial stuff is still there but slowly getting worked out.  I am also being sued on top of everything else from a car accident that occurred over a year and half ago.  It's a wrongful suit and the guys lawyer is really grasping at straws to try and get this guy a big lump sum of money for sprained ankle and a broken toe.  Luckily I was not at fault he was and he was given the citation and waived medical attention at the scene.  I also have a witness that went on record.  My insurance company has appointed an attorney for me and I just completed my questions and sent it out to him.

The stress of all this has gotten to me physically.  I've been out sick for two days hit hard by a bacterial infection and stomach flu.  It's so strange my AH has probably done more damage to his body with all his drinking and drugging but who's the one who gets sick all the time.  Me!!  He says he worries about this stuff too, but probably doesn't hold it in like I do.  Plus he has a hobby that he spends most of his free time working at so he takes care of himself.  I can see now that the small amounts of time I get for me is not enough.  I need to increase my down time and just detach from the boys when I can and rest.

AH is working up to six months sobriety time and while it has been a struggle, positive things are happening in his life.  My brother has given him another chance at working on his crew this season; which is a blessing considering the amount of financial stuff we need to pay back.  It's only for four months, but my prayer is that we can knock out what we owe to family and to the daycare and association.  AH wants to save for a vehicle and of course music equipment.  I'm going to work hard at saving my pennies for a new couch.  It's not much but dang it, I've been sitting on the same couch since college. smile I'm ready to upgrade.  It's petty I know and I'm thankful for the couch I do have.

The kids are great, they learned how to swim this summer and they are just as challenging as ever.  Yesterday I was too tired to take them into school so they just hung out with me.  We worked on flash cards and other fun things yesterday.  It was really nice.   Hope everyone is hanging in there.

Peace to all,
Twinmom~

I know you will pull through this.
Is there a way to hire a Private Investigator or maybe that insurance company to show this man is fradulant? He sounds like a huge ass. I can't stand people like that who try and use the system to be rewarded for something they didn't do. Fight that one girl for sure.
I'm happy to hear your ah is staying sober. For my ah this was the hardest time. He hit seven months and then relapsed. I think you said yours did to last time if I'm not mistaken. I'm also happy he has a goal (the music) to work for.
I'm with ya on the sick thing. I just got a sinus cold and my head is throbbing. I'll pray for you to get better. ;) Usually alcoholics don't get sick alot because the alcohol is like antiseptic. I don't think any virus could live through that poison. lol
I hope everything goes well for you. Take it easy and take it day by day. It will all pass.

so glad to hear from you and get the update. I am so sorry all this stress is upon you. I am glad fo ryou that the A is sober that must be such a mercy. My A is hitting lots of different bottoms. I have had to work overtime to stay out of the way. I believe our truck may be aright off. He had a wreck 2 months ago it is still sitting in a repair yard and the insurance is negotiating how to deal with it. In the interim in May (when we were separated) unbenown to me he did a hit and run. That case is now wending its way through the courts. I have our pets which is a blessing because they were a huge bind to him. I am hoping he goes to live with his uncle up north that will help him. He has resisted that tremendously till now.

I wil have you in my prayers. My kidneys go into shut down now when I am strressed. I cna't say the A is made of cast iron anymore. His own health fialed tremendously this year. He is unable to work and is on general assistance. Getting him on that was tremendously difficult he just wanted me to take care of him which of course I have done to my demise.

I hope you will keep us up todate.

Maresie.

(((((twinmom)))),

I was reading an Alanon book last night. It said that we take on the traits of an alcoholic after living with them so long. Maybe that is why you feel like you do. I definitely know that I do all the emotions for my AHsober. He has no clue. Hope everything works out for you.

In support,
Nancy
