sad day :(

Feeling quite sad today..had to take my beloved dog Sandy of 11 yrs to the vet.  She was a16yr old Shephard/Akita mix.  Today was her day to pass on.  She was a wonderful friend.  She saw me thru many a rough day with my AH(sober now).  I got her when she was 5yrs old from my sister who was moving and didn't want her anymore.  She would of gone to the pound.
I am so grateful she came into my life and filled it with love and joy.  We shared a special connection. I will miss her happy face in the morning...and her smile.  Yes, she did smile.
I know it was time and we did the right thing...but darn it sure hurts inside.  I am grateful my hubby was there with me through all that had to be done.  I took the day off work...going to spend the rest of today taking care of me...and remembering my special furry one.

your friend in recovery,
rosie

Sorry for the loss of your friend.  I know it hurts to lose them, especially when we have to make those hard decisions...

Great plan for the rest of your day my friend.

Yours Still in Recovery,
David

((((((((Rosie)))))))))),

I am so sorry you had to put your sweet Sandy to rest.  The loss of a pet is no less painful than losing a person.  You did a very brave, loving, compassionate thing for her.  Pipers Kitty and I send you all the love and prayers we can today.  Rest in Peace Sandy.  May you romp with the rest of our beloved pets.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown...
I know how hard it is to lose a pet, and also to be the one to have to make that hard decision which is best for them. Since you had such a strong connection, maybe you will soon feel your dogs presence around you; maybe you already have. I believe a pet still lingers around us in our hearts and around us long after they are gone.  aww

(((((((((((((((((MyCaro)))))))))))))))))))))),

I can so relate my friend.  As you know, I had to put my lab down exactly 3 months ago today.  Today when I walked into her house, for a moment, I forgot she wasn't going to be there to greet me.

Perhaps Sandy and Bailey are romping and running in the fields of clover together looking down on us.

Much love as you grieve your puppy,
Maria

Rosie
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how much my 2 little dogs mean to me and how much I've relied on them for comfort and companionship through the rough times with my A and during the divorce, etc.

As Karilynn said... it can be as hard as losing a person you're close to. Take time for yourself.
Thinking of you...

{{{hugs}}} for you ~ I don't have children, but like yourself I have a pet (kitty) and he is rather old and has kidney problems. The vet tells me he might have a year left and there is nothing much we can do besides love him while he's here. So, that is what we are doing ~ I don't look forward to the day he leaves this earth. My heart goes out to you ~ and you are in my prayers.

My condolensces to you on the loss of your beloved friend.  I've been there many times, and they are like our children.  It's hard to lose the one constant that has been there for you through thick and thin.

Love,

Kathi

You are in my thoughts. My Old One was 14 last year when I lost him. He had come to me just 4 wks old, before he could even walk, as a throw away. He was my good friend, Jake.

Rosie, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved friend (((((hugs))))))

I just lost my youngest dog the end of May to a sudden illness, and said goodbye to my 13 1/2 year old greyhound last December.

It's one of the hardest decisions we will ever have to make.

May God hold your aching heart in his hands ((((hugs))))
