Remembering Katrina

(((((Family)))))),

To those of you who were all affected by Hurricane Katrina, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Hard to believe it's 2 years later.  I have seen many of you be so strong, and you have taught me many things including courage and strength. I remember all of you and your families and those who were lost.  Much love and blessings to you and your families.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty heart.gif

yes - thoughts & prayers to my fellow Louisianians & to Mississippians affected by Hurricane Katrina.

We have been thru a lot in these past two years - praying that the painful memories of yesterday don't keep you from enjoying the blessings of today.

You are such a special person....

You are right, we are back in that season again I am afraid. The people and thier courage to hold their families together are just amazing demonstrations of faith.

Peace and blessings to all, and a wish for a safe season.

Take care of you!

May I play Devil's Advocate and present the other side of the Katrina disaster?

San Antonio, like so many other cities, wanting to do what it could to help, took in Katrina victims by the thousands.  Now statistics prove that our crime rate jumped astronomically, and a great majority of the increase involved Katrina refugee perpetrators. Property owners stood by helplessly as the living spaces they so graciously provided were destroyed.  We gave jobs to those who wanted or needed them, crowded their children into our schools; generally tried to make them feel at home.  SO much for hospitality.  I suppose we would do it again.

I am truly sorry for their plight, but I do wish they had shown a bit more respect for our city and gratitude to those who sincerely wanted to help.

Houston's crime statistics revealed the same truths.
