Not always here

Hi all
I'm not always here as much as I'd like to be. I have recieved a bulk e mail from JohnF asking if I want to remain. I for one find this site absolutely in valuable. I may not come here often but I enjoy recieving e mails from you. It reminds me you are here supporting me.
Alanon has become a big part of my life. When I lived on an island (physically and emotionally) this site helped me through some really tough times. I am a very grateful member. Today I am able to take part in f2f meetings and conventions. My A is in recovery and my tough times are very much less than they were.
I have been spending time on a site helping those who are suffering at the hands of people with borderline personality disorder. I found the site while my A was still in denial and I was confused. I have noticed that alot of these people actually have alcohol problems. They advocate absolute non contact and feel that these people are 'evil' rather than having a dis ease. There's alot of hurt there that I identify with but have moved past now. It's frustrating not to be able to just give the program to help these people find their own recovery. They have to find it themselves
I think maybe I should be reducing that frustration by attending here more. Alanon after all is for my own personal recovery.
Thank you for the reminder. I tell all alanon home group members about this site. Think I need to take my own recommendation.
A big thank you for being there, all of you.

You will have to pm the site address. My mother has BPD, she denies it but I've read a book and she is everything it says. :)

I think alcoholism can come in many forms. Some people have it with personality disorders too. Some people have physical disorders as well. I am glad there is support out there for people. I have to confine most of my recovery these days to me. Someday I'll be able to help others Right now I'm on survival and may be for a long long time.

OMG too funny. I just had an email come today from "John F" and I remember thinking, hmmm that name looks familiar but I cannot remember why. So I deleted it as I am afraid of opening something w/a computer virus. LOL. I hope it wasn't anything important.

Sincerely,
QOD

You may have to  apply to become a member. It would be fantastic to have another 12 stepper for support lol I'm sure they think I'm in denial and should be exercising the NO CONTACT rule. I did try this and my A went into recovery. Of course if they accept recovery no contact is sometimes the safer option for our recovery smile
