Back from the Beach!!

Hey everyone -
We are back from the beach.  We had a great time.  I have attached a pic of me and the kids at the aquarium.  There are a boat load more.....but I figured I'd only atttach one.

Our first night got off to a rocky start.  Our room we checked into was NASTY!!!  There was sand in our sheets, a pillow that looked like it had 10 years of drool on it, pee on the toilet, lipstick writing on the bathroom wall, pigeon poop on the balcony.....oh and so many other things.  We immediately called for new sheets.  Then my mom managed to talk to the head of housekeeping, explained what we walked into and the next day they switched us to another great room that had just been renovated.  Thank goodness.  We could finally relax, walk w/out shoes on, and not worry about getting some sort of disease from a filthy room.  The rest of the week went great.

We played in the waves, hunted for seashells, built sandcastles, swam in the pools and ate ate ate.  I managed to NOT gain any weight eating all that food. The only thing I figure is playing in the waves, fighting the undertow helped burn all those extra calories off. LOL.

Now it is back to reality.  I have my boundries and am working hard on keeping them in place.  My AH didn't handle hearing that I had changed the locks very well but managed to get over it after a few days.  He did of course mention it yesterday when he came over to see the kids.  I was cleaning out the fridge and he said that if he could have gotten in here while we were gone, he would have had it clean for me.  I just simply said, "oh it is no big deal.  I just have a little food to clean up.  I just didn't get to it before leaving."  I am proud of myself b/c I felt like he was trying to draw me into that debate and I refuse to go there w/him right now.  He knows what the deal is and that is that.

I will keep all updated.  As of now, I have to go get cleaned up b/c we are heading out to see the new Harry Potter movie. YEAH!!!!  Been waiting a long time for this.  Have a great Sunday everyone.
Love ya,
QOD

What a great vacation you had! I'm so glad it went well. The kids will always have this vacation in their memories. And you too for a lot of different reasons! You struck out on your own and had a blast.

My A would get so angry when I locked the front gate during his binges there must be four or five locks and chains in the nearby ditches :D. I should try to find them someday. The house locks have fared much better.

You look beautiful and happy in your picture. That's the way it should be. I'm glad you're back!

You have such a beautiful family. It looks like the aquarium was a great deal too!
I'm proud of you for standing up for yourselves and saying NO. I can't believe someone left the room like that! Ugh! And worse, was gonna charge you for it! Disgusting!
I'm also very proud of how you didn't let yourself get hooked. Great work at reading the red flags!
I hope you had fun on your vacation. You deserve it!

That aquarium was gorgeous! Was that in Tampa? I forgot where you went. I had to laugh about the fridge story. Sounds like you did a great job! You so did not play into him. I agree that you look happy. Yea.

QOD, so glad you enjoyed your vacation!  I was hoping everything worked out and it sounds like in the end it did.

You have a beautiful family.  Take care of you.

Your friend in recovery,
Leetle
