My best friend of 51 years lost her battle with cancer last night. I am so sad and my heart hurts for "me", but I am so happy she is no longer suffering. It's times like this that make me realize that we really can only and should live each day to it's fullest and take "one day at a time". I had so much love for this friend and thinking of the good memories and the blessing that her friendship was to me is what is going to get me through the days ahead. Please pray for her family and all of us that loved her that we can honor the memory of this special lady with more laughter than tears.
I feel like I am surrounded by sadness and bumps in the road, right now. Our nephew has cancer, as well......40 years old. Hospice was called in this week and there is no more treatment for him.....just a matter of time. Please be in prayer for him, too. He has a wife and two beautiful little girls just 5 and 8 years old.
My son, my A has had a problem with the State Pharmacy Board about getting his license back. He is doing well and working hard on his recovery and feels like he just got slapped in the face (as he put it). It's much too long a story to even try to explain here, but I know after much prayer and quiet time, but he is exactly where he is supposed to be. A wise friend in the room, pointed that out to me and I took it to heart. She was so right. He is well, he is alive and he is in recovery. That is the most important thing. He will get his license back if he is supposed to........I know that. In the meantime, I just need to keep myself on track and make a choice to look at the positive things in life, the good things, the happy things. And there are many among the sadness. I think of it as more flowers among the weeds. And they are beautiful. And I'm going to enjoy their beauty.........the beauty of life.
I am so grateful I can come here to vent, to share and to know that I will not be judged. I know I can count on you to pray and to love me just as I am. One of the many blessings in my life. Thank you, dear friends.

I'm so sorry for you loss and sadness. Please know that you and your loved ones are in my prayers. Take care of yourself, make sure you are eating and sleeping enough. I'm so glad you feel safe enough with us that you are able to come here and vent.
sorry to hear of your friend and nephew such is life when it deals us so blows but we do/can over come them in time in aceptance and postiveness thoughts your friend is gone and not forgotten and left many wonderful things behind for a reason as you said..graditude Prayers for you all hen to strengthen yas all One Day At A Time

In my experience (and mostly hindsight), HP who I call God is so very close to me during the worst of times. I know I'm not the only one HP stays close to comfort during such pain and loss. These are the times I have to remind myself over and over HP is with each and every one of us, and I can let go and let God give them the comfort they need.
Oh boy, these are sad times you are going through. It's so easy to forget we just never know what is coming down the pike for us, good or not, and to treasure each day as a gift. I really needed to hear that today. Talk about perspective. Thanks so much for your post.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend and your nephew. Seems like you've been thru a lot lately. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I do agree with the comment that your son is right where he needs to be right at this moment. It has been hard for me to accept that in my life, but I think I have (most of the time, anyway).

I just had a special prayer for your nephew who is suffering and asked to relieve his pain and give his wife and children the strength to overcome such an overwhelming experience. Lexie, I'm so sorry about your loss and your relative's illness. I remember that you are strong in the program, and pray for your continued strength and hope.

Life sucks huh!!! You had a wonderful life with your friend, and I imagine you shared some wonderful things with eachother..WOW, 51 years is a whole lifetime... When your feeling down, just pick a memory, and relive it in your mind...I bet you will "smile" thinking about something fun you two shared...
As for your nephew, I'm sending him a prayer.... i know what cancer can do to people, and what It does to the family and friends who are watching them fade away..... Just pray, and ask your HP, when the time comes, to make it peaceful for him....
And your son....You got the tools Lex!!!!! As you have told me before a hundred times...Trust in your Hp, and work your programme...
