Just wanted to say hi to everyone, I haven't posted in a little bit. I am alive and had a great 4 day vacation from my kids 2 at a fancy hotel for a conference and 2 at home alone. It was fabulous and the first time I have been away from them for a long long time. My life is in slight turmoil at the moment, I may have to move and would like to get out before school starts if that's going to happen anyway. My focus is on garage sales, getting rid of stuff and looking for housing. It's complicated because I hate the school district we are in but to move out would mean an hour drive each way for work. I am just planning to lighten the load of stuff and see what unfolds in the way of the house. Worst case scenario I move back to Washington, although I'm praying that's not what my cards hold. At least I have it to go to if I must.
sounds like you have some good strategies going. I am glad you have a good break. I am also in declutter mode. I did quite a bit on the weekend. I have some stuff in storage I need to go through and that will really be an art to decrease that.
I am glad you are looking at options. I fail to look at them very often because I don't like any of them.
Glad you were able to get away and have a nice time. I would love to find some alone time for myself but think I would get bored w/out my kids. When I am at work, that is the only time I am away from them. They are like extra appendages for me. LOL.
I had a tough time actually letting my son (almost 14 yo) got spend the night at a friend's house last night. My gut said not to let him go and my gut is usually right.....BUT I figured I was being over-protective and let my baby bird leave the nest. He is pulling away more and more every day and I know in a couple of years, he'll be out there driving and having this big life w/out me. Saddens me.
My daughter won't even let me go to the bathroom by myself when we are at home. She has always been a big mommy's girl. She is starting to want to go hang w/other people now though but only as long as it is HER decision. So I have to handle that all extra cleverly most of the time. Plant the idea in her head and let her come up w/the idea herself. Sneaky.
As far as clearing out the clutter - CONGRATS on making that move. I am trying to do the same but have almost a "writer's block"....let's call it "cleaning up block" LOL. I have just gotten tired of dealing w/it. I keep saying I am going to have a yard sale but never get around to it. I always say, Hmm, ok maybe next weekend. But it never happens. As a matter a fact, maybe this weekend! I don't have martial arts until Thurs (closed for the holiday) so I reckon I can use the extra time to sift through my junk.
