captured thoughts of a person caught in the cyle of domestic abuse

One, two, three, breath. One, two, three, breath.
It's time for him to leave. It's time for him to leave.
He's cutting off my air, I stand here in the square.
Where do I go?

I hate to leave you, but it's time to go.
It's scary here. Nothing is mine.
My thoughts aren't mine.
My life's not mine.
Where did I go?

I can live my life, I have before.
But you've contolled me,
I don't know how to live now.
How did I live before?
What did I do?

God showed me the way.
I lived life by the day.
Great Power bigger than myself,
Show me the way.
Guide me day by day.
Hour by hour
Minute by minute.

God, the pain is too acute,
don't leave me aloof.
Stay by my side.
Help me find rest that abides.

The tide comes in the tide goes out.
I must remain resolute.
I must remain resolute.
There is no refute.
I gave him the boot.
The end is but mute.
