You guys are not going to believe this!!!!

I got a call today (not collect) from my husband saying that he had been released.  I told him that he has a charmed life and I guess he better go try again since they won't seem to keep him for anything.  His crime had a minimum sentence of several years.  He said that the PD was going into private practice and had to clear her calendar so they were making outrageous deals.  Now he'll go get a $30 hr. job.  It never ceases to amaze me!  I was fully prepared for him to be in prison for 5+ years and BAM here he is again!

Anyway, I told him I wasn't doing a thing for him and we were on our way to a movie and went on about my day.  I think I'm still in a little shock.  He called back after about 10 mins of the first call to say that he was having them take him back in to go wrap up the warrants he has in another county so I suppose he's back in for the moment but definitely not for 5+ years.  I was just glad not to have to worry about him anymore and thought it was resolved, guess not.

My daughter's birthday is today and she had a party last week (the one no one came to) she said that she wished on her blow that her dad would be out of jail and never be bad again.  Hmmmm - strange.

In one of the "Getting Them Sober" books, it says something like "It's hard to lose an alcoholic." Just when you feel your life is running pretty smoothly without them, here they come again....

Anyway, a little girl got her wish. Good for you that you have kept from loading her with your own concerns and she feels that it's OK to still love him, and let you know she does. This must have been pretty hard, sometimes, but I think it's the right way to go. The kids need to come to terms with his disease in their own way.

You are right. That is unbelievable! How do they do that? I remember my ex ah drove without a licence for years never got caught. We had an accident, I was driving and there was a mix up with the insurance ( insurance company's fault not mine) and I had my licence suspended. Well, I drove to work and home anyway. After all, he did it all the time never was caught and I had to get to work ( etc, justify, justify). Yeah, I got pulled over, ticked for speeding, for driving on a suspended licence. One time! I get caught! He has done all these insane things and never been caught or at least gotten out of it when he has been caught. What the.....  Charmed that's a good word for it. It is so hard not to wish and pray for them to get what's comming to them.

Wow that's amazing. My brother is like that too. He is a recovering (so he says anyway) heroin user and he wrote bad checks and was supposed to be in prison for 15 or so years and do you know he spent one month in there and then when he did go to court the judge dismissed it all? I couldn't believe it. It's like they are untouchable by the law sometimes.
Have a great day with your birthday girl!! Tell her Happy Birthday for me ;)
