HP stepped in...

Tonight my twin sis and I hosted a baby shower for our best friend that we have had since highschool.  I was a little bummed because I knew I was going to have to take my girls and I kind of wanted a night out without kids.  My son went to stay with his dad so it was just the girls and me.  We got there early to set up and then people started arriving.  The hubbys were invited because my friend's husband was in too and he is about to deploy to Iraq.  We all went to school together so it was a chance for everyone to get together and have a send off for him as well.  His wife is the one who is pregnant.
Anyway, not too long after the shower started the four men (2 classmates from school and 2 grandpa's of the expected baby) went to another room to watch TV.  My girls snuck off to see what the men were doing and they started hanging out with the guys.
Now here is where HP stepped in to help me.  My girls aren't around many people.  Usually they stick pretty close to me, but tonight the men kept them company!  When I went back to get them my friend's hubby told me that the girls were fine hanging with the guys and for me to enjoy the shower!  I asked a few more times to make sure. lol. Then took off back to the shower.  Those wonderful men watched my girls for 2 hours while I had some much needed adult time with my old friends from school.  It was a wonderful time.  I hugged each of them before I left and told them thank you.  I don't know if they know how much they gave to me tonight, but wow I sure do appreciate it!
Just wanted to share. Thanks for listening.

(((((melamom)))) sounds like HP to me. I used to be a single parent, so I understand how much you appreciated this.
