SHEESH! WHAT IS THIS? SH*T ON GOOD PEOPLE WEEK?

I am horrified at what John is going through, I have seen it before and I think it's from some jealous, spiteful person/persons.
Then my son called me last night, really upset. ( he is the one who had that meat-eating chemical splashed full in his face a few weeks ago). He hasn't regained full vision, and we don't know if he ever will. The company he works for has taken his job away and said he is a liability. They called a meeting on Sun., and apparently it was mostly about him. Because he was a Workman's Compensation claim, and it couldn't be kept hush hush, now they want to get rid of him.
Supposedly, two people reported that he wasn't wearing goggles when he was working. (He was only spraying water, and obviously the goggles weren't needed) God!! If anyone WOULD definately know to wear his goggles, it certainly would be him,  especially after what happened!!! But he was only spraying water and they weren't needed! BTW, he WAS wearing them when he got hurt! The chemical spilled up into his face when he dropped the bucket he was using to mix it,(which he shouldn't have had to do in the first place if the other employees had been properly trained!) He was showing a guy how to do it, because the company had run out of the chemical they were supposed to be using. He was one of the very few who knew how to mix it. I guess he should have said," Oh well, we can't clean tonight because we have no chemical", and gone home. Then the company would have had to close down production, or work with contaminated equipment, which would poison thousands of people...yadayada.
My son is a good person, he loved his job, was good at his job, was very concientious, wouldn't hurt a flea. (and I'm not saying this just because I'm his mother!) He is a man that any mother would be proud to call her son.
The company hasn't fired him ..yet. They put him on production line, which he hates. He has watched it before, it's step one of 'out the door'.
The shift he will be working, he won't ever get to see his kids. He has 50/50 custody,(except his oldest daughter who lives with him). and when she gets home from school, he'll be at work until well after she has gone to bed. Oh my, it's just such a mess! He went to his doc and got some stress leave for a week. I don't know what is going to happen after that.
I am hoping that HP has something bigger and better lined up for him? HP has blessed me in so many ways, I feel I am selfish in asking for more, but I am, not for me, but for my son. He has 3 young children who he adores, and his fiancee has two. (They adore him and want to call him Dad).He is a very hands-on Dad, and builds them things, plays with them, takes them places, really enjoys his  family. The shift he was working allowed him to spend time with them.
Sorry, I am rambling, but this and what has happened to John, just make me ill. It seems there are too few 'shining stars' in this world, and it's so sad to see people try to muddy them! Would you mind adding my son to your prayer list tonight? His name is Dave, thanks, TLC

You and Dave are most certainly in my prayers. I like what Louise said. Sometimes with these things it's the wisdom to know the difference.

Take care of you!

I will certainly keep you and your son in my prayers. Is it okay to copy and paste your request? I'd like to send it to a prayer group.

Hugs,

I will keep Dave in my positive thoughts and prayers.  Sometimes bad things happen to good people, and it's a darned shame.

Best wishes all around,

Diva

Does he have a union or omsbudman or OSHA to make the co. do what's right? Can he talk to a lawyer who specializes in work place issues. There must be some help out there for his situation? My prayers are with you & your son & I pray there is help for the situation he's been put in. God bless you all. Hope

Thank-you again my dear friends. Yes, he has an appointment with the union guy, and I guess we'll see where it goes from there. I think he is going to try for another week of stress leave. He has never had anything like this happen to him before. He doesn't know whether to look for work someplace else or what? I am praying that HP has bigger and better things in store for him. The thing is, he liked what he was doing!
Knowing you all are praying for him, I feel more positive about this. Ya know, when I go through hard stuff, I feel bad, but when it's your child.... the lioness comes out, and I want to DO something. I guess it's that fix-it personality of us Alanoners, eh? Love You! TLC
