Fandango (Fanny) and Ariel were born at 4:30pm today in perfect health, and with no help from me whatsoever (OK, I helped dry them off and tugged one of Ariel's feet on the way out as she was coming breech). They are nursing on Mama and staggering all over. They are BOTH girls, which is a blessing if you have dairy goats! These are the first kids born on the farm, my first goat kidding ever.
THIS is why I wanted a farm, and why I'm going to fight to keep it come hell or high water.
Congratulations! They are just beautiful. We always love to welcome any new member of the MIP animal family. They play such an important role in our recoveries. I can't tell you how many times my beloved Pipers Kitty made it easier on both of us. At times hubby drank just a bit less by holding her close. How many times did she comfort me when I told A to leave? Now in his recovery she loves to dink with him. They are just "trouble squared" as I affectionately call them.
So you just go ahead a brag about your children. We love seeing the pictures and hearing the stories. Here's to a long and happy life for you all!

Even though it happens numerous times every second somewhere in the world, birth and new life is always a miracle.
Thanks for sharing that miracle with us, and reminding us that the greatest joys in life are in simple pleasures, like greeting a new baby goat into the world.
