Sobriety! ye right

Ok I been married and living with an active alchoholic for oh years before I ever knew about Alanon, so to this day I'm as crazy and as warped thinking as a person can get in those circumstances.
Yep I done it all, I banked every wrong that he done to me with credit, and it would all spwe out of me time after time, oh and also I had this thing where I would real off what I did for him, like this this and this, that penny would just not drop for me, and so he put the drink down, ((((((big sigh of relief)))))))), I'm no longer like a guard on duty for his safe return, no longer exsperiencing that relief turn to anger because he made me hurt so bad, and then I would scream abuse and all that venum from the past would spring forth time and time again, nope I'm not having to do that anymore, but now I'm working my programme and trying to adopt healtheir attitudes and coping strategies, although my husband has put the drink down he is not working a programme, we just spent the weekend at an AA Alanon convention, and it screamed out loud and clear to me just how almost identical the problems that we all face in this situation are, but guess what, my husband came home and said, "but we're not like that are we", ermmmmmm yes, and then he goes on to say, "how can my drinking affect you though"? Where do you want me to start?
How long is a piece of string?
So here we are, I'm still a mess but at least I know it now, and he is in happy denial land, I'm learning to slowly to live by my own true reality, with the help of you guy's and of course my beloved Alanon, the family I chose.
It's not easy by any means but it's a start, take care you lot, xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I hear a lot of progress in this post Katy.  Good for you.  Little by little is does get easier to handle.  Seems as though you are doing everything right for yourself in your recovery.

(((Katy)))

So glad you are getting your needs met with Alanon.  It is a wonderful program isn't it?  To be able to have an opportunity to pick a family of choice that totally understands what you live with day in and day out is such a blessing.  Keep up the good work, everything will work out as it should.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Peace,
Twinmom~

GOOD! EXCELLENT! It sounds like you learned alot at the confrence then. It sounds like your program got the boost it needed to keep growing. And that is, after all the idea of the confrence.
KEEP IT UP! Good work.
