Having a hard day

I am having a tough one. I am having my period to begin with (sorry guys), and my hormones are making it hard to cope with reality. My AH has been on another bender. It's kind of funny that I call it that because in reality he drinks non-stop for 3 weeks until he is sick as a dog, spends a few days recovering, then goes at it again, all the while filling the air with talk of recovery. Yesterday I got home to get our 6 yr old daughter from the school bus at 3 pm and he was in bed passed out. I decided to take her to my office for a while then out to dinner. While we were out she told me that she hates beer, it makes her sick to see someone drink it, and she doesn't understand why people drink something that makes them sick. When we got home he was up, but I pretty much kept her busy with homework, bath, taking a walk so she could be occupied with other things. At one point he asked if he would like him to help her with her spelling words and she politely declined saying she wanted Mommy to help.

My best friend and neighbor is at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America this week getting a 2nd opinion on her stage 4 colon cancer (she is 42 yrs old with a 5 year old son).

I just called my Mom hoping to get into a good mood. I asked her what the plan for Easter is and she said she wanted to schedule everything around me. I said noon or 1 pm would be great (we live an hour away). She said, "I don't want to do anything before 3 pm." I said, "why did you say you would plan around me when that is not actually the case?" She said, "Can I call you back, I have to go have fun now."

There are no meetings in my area today, so I am going to take extra good care of myself. I am going to eat lunch outside, walk the dog this evening, take my daughter to soccer practice, and pray. I am also going to set some new boundaries with my AH: don't call me during the day if you have been drinking; and if you get a DUI, you rot in jail.

This too shall pass. God, grant me the serenity...

PS. Does anyone know about getting a breathalyzer installed in a car?

hon don't bother with a breathalizyer. they just get around it. they are stupid and a waste of money.

Mine used his compressor, or paid a kid who was walking by.

sounds rough, your poor little girl.

Have you come to the meetings here? they are great. and keep coming to the message board.

I am so glad you have planned your day out. good for you. I am so sad he is so sick.

the things our A's miss is horrible. much love, debilyn

What about at the local YMCA or other community centers? I know that here in Dayton the local Arboretum has an easter egg hunt and all month long the Easter bunny is at the local candy shop. You might want to get your picture with him, too!
