conversation with my...........,

a typical conversation with my husband.................,

me:  ''oh look honey it's green.''

husband: ''uhhh no......, i really don't think so .
it looks green to me.''

me:  ''are you sure?
i could have sworn it was green.''

husband:  ''NO!  i am telling you it is GREEN .''

me:  well, perhaps you are right.
it's not green, it is green.''

husband:  ''i told you , i am telling you.
IT IS GREEN !''

me:  ''yes, i agree.
i am wrong.  you are right. it is green.''

husband:  ''when it is green , it is green ,and nothing you can say can make it anything but green !!!''

and he huffs outside for a smoke and doesn't speak to me for hours, days, weeks.

blessings,
jewely

The insanity of the disease!!  You reminded me of how it was when I tried to "talk" to my A when he was active......

It's funny--I think that they must all have the same script that they study because they all seem to speak the same language!!  I tried for many years to learn the language in hopes of really communicating with him before I realized that it was futile and that I was only causing myself more heartache by trying to have a rational conversation with someone who was simply not rational.

Hang in there and remember that you are not alone!!

((((JEWELY))))
Sometimes I just want to say to the AH
"I give up, you win all the arguments about everything. You are bigger, louder, and more determined, so you win."
But you know what they will say? Something like "No I don't".
They want to argue about everything:
Whether or not it is a good day
Who is responsible for what
What the definition of sarcasm is
Who started the argument
and on and on
It does make me a litttle crazy, but it's better to squash it if you can.
You know what they say-
He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day

thanks abbyal,

i am learning.
today i said to him........,
''you stink.
i can't believe my life has been reduced to this.''
[he doesn't wash for days and days at a time]
i turned around and walked away.
to my surprise,
i saw him nod in agreement as i walked out of the room.
end of conversation.

blessings,
jewely

My sponsor used to remind me all the time, )over and over, until I FINALLY accepted it as the truth) the following.....

"why do you keep expecting and insane and irrational person to act sane and rationally"?

He used to remind me to look at my A with the letters "SSS" tattoo'd on her forehead, for "sick, sick, sick"!!!

Take care
Tom

too true tom,

but admittedly,
every once in a while,
i would like to substitute the ''SSS'' to stand for ''stupid, stupid, stupid''!!!

((((jewely)))),

Thanks for bringing this up. I will learn to get out of the game and go sit in the bleachers. He is argumentative and rigid and always has to be right.

In support,
Nancy
