So tomorrows GroundHog day....

(((((Everyone))))))

In one of my F2F meetings someone had a very interesting share.  Do you remember the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray?  He was a news anchor person who was being a real butthead and relived the same day over and over and over again until he got it right.

How often does that happen to us.  A "oportunity for growth" presents itself in our daily lives and if we choose to ignore it and hope it goes away.... it re-occurs until we face it and deal with it.

It really stood out to me.  That happens to me all the time.  If I am truly honest with myself, many of the consequenses I am dealing with today are issues I have had many "oportunities" to deal with before.... and chose not to.

Just thought I would pass it on, as it really made an impression on me.  (And tomorrow is groundhog day - LOL)

Take care of you!

(((((Rtexas))))),

Love that movie! You are so right about missed opportunities.

Here's hoping the Groundhog sees his shadow. I need more winter time - not enough to go snowshoeing yet! Besides I haven't taken down my Christmas tree yet - maybe for Valentines Day!

Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Piper Kitty (who's scared of her own shadow at times)

Everytime I see that movie I think wouldn't it be cool if time could stop just long enough to allow everyone to work on their "stuff" and catch up to where they want to be in life.  Thanks for that thought provoking post.  Have a great day.

Groundhog day is our youngest daughter's b-day - she will be 20.  At last I have no more teenagers - made it thru 5 daughters & those lovely teenage years.  Boy, you do feel like you are learning the same lessons over & over again with them.

Hopefully I got better as we went thru it - there favorie story is to tell about when the oldest got her first tattoo - i freaked out - BIG TIME!!! cried, left the house - now all 5 of them have at least one - 2 of them have multiple tattoos - not a big deal at all - when they show them to me - I say how nice & glad you were able to do something nice for yourself.  Took me many "do overs" to learn that one.

Strong willed or hard headed or determination to learn things the hard way - or maybe my HP really wants me work hard in my garden of self - sometimes we just have to work over & over again on the same thing - Makes you want to say "Ok, God, I get it - I'm working on it" lol

Glad to have this place to help me work on the same ole stuff
Thanks,
Rita

Thanks for the reminder.  For more years than I care to remember right around this time I find myself in a financial jackpot.  The last two years I was doing really well and had no issues.  This year however, not so good.  I am very quickly being reminded of how important it is to apply this program to all aspects of my life.  I am praying and turning it over to HP but I am still very uncomfortable in my skin about it all.  I know as long as I do the legwork HP will help sort it out.  Just goes to show that when we dont apply the program to everything in our lives we can have slips.

Thanks for posting that.  To me it speaks more to the fact that I have been down a road before and unlike bill murray in the movie I expect things to change.  He learns that things don't change, they happen the same way over and over again until he does something different, does that right thing.  It's like the nothing changes if nothing changes line.  It reminds me I don't want to go down that road again.  I already lived that day and don't want it again.

Funny you should mention that...

I'm living that movie!  I don't understand what lesson I'm supposed to be learning, but somehow I keep repeating the same mistakes.  I'm still hoping to get it right one day soon so I can stop the insanity! :)

We were talking about this in chat today. I've noticed that people and events often times give me possibilities to practice the character defects and work through parts of myself that I might not otherwise become willing to do otherwise.  Because someone keeps showing up in my life that is challenging me otherwise, I find myself challenged to look at myself.
