letting go and letting God

Hi all,   this is my first time on this. Just logged in. We are in the process of moving. Of course, my A can't help much. Some days he tries Some days it's been bad. So much clutter and mess. I feel over whelmed. I'm trying to apply the tool Letting go and letting god ....

Some things are hard to do . I'm not responsible for other peoples attitudes, the words they use.  this decease is so hard to live with, day after day.

Especially, when his understanding of even little things are getting hard. Oh, the electrician doing the wiring, he wants to explain, but can't.. do I intervene? 'cause. the jab has to be done and if the guy ncan't understand what;s being said, etc..... Where do I let go? what will be God's will for me..

I'm so greatful for this program, but sometimes, I feel sooooo, helpless. Love to hear about tools.. though

Aloha Chauri!

I find that God's will for me is alot in how I do what I am doing and of course doing the right moral thing.  My HP wants kindness, patience, understanding, compassion, honesty, supportiveness, gentleness of spirit, etc (those things that I like to get handled with).  HP also doesn't want me putting myself in dangerous postions, mind, body, spirit and emotions for then I could no be a useable tool to HP, myself and others and I will return to insanity.  HP wants me to love others as I love my self.  So I gotta do the self love first, check out what that feels like and then turn it loose on others.

Overwhelmed? patience and program focus such as on an appropriate slogan can help that out good.  There isn't a law that says you cannot be calm.  There's no justification for insanity after being in program for a while and working the steps.  Called your sponsor?

Ask your husband if it would be better if he wrote out the instructions and then gave them to the electrician.  I know I work better on written instructions maybe that would work for him.

Yeah the disease is cunning, baffling and powerful so much so that it got me into program and for that I am truely grateful.

Sloooooow Dooooown and do your part only.  HP will help all involved.

(((((hugs)))))

You sound like you have some time in recovery.

(((Chauri)))

Welcome to MIP. Moving is tough at anytime, but hopefully you will get settled soon and have a nice new place to live.

You don't have to be helpless anymore, and I know we've all been there. Maybe now is the time to refocus. Put the focus on you...and not the A! I know this is a tough one...

Concentrate on you now, and make time for all the things you want to do. He will still do what he wants to do regardless.

I look forward to hearing so much more about you in your future posts. Keep coming back.

thank you for sharing Jerry & ann Marie. this feels so much better to-day. I still couldn't get to a FTF meeting. I think I have a virus or something. Like you said, I have to take care of ME first. so I just had to rest today. People around me are still angry and doing their stuff. But I really feel at peace, 'cause I know my HP will set things straight.

We live in Florida now. just moved this year, permanently. I'm  enjoying the beautiful moon light in my new porch. such nice things of God's creation, gives me hope. all the people in al-anon give me strenght and courage. I love you all, though we may not know all well. I know i can reach out for help and undedrstanding, anytime.
