****THANKS FOR CHRISTMAS CARDS******

I would like to thank all of you who sent Christmas cards and care packages to us at the Miricales in Progress recovery house. Your support ment so mutch to all of us. As Christmas aproched I was feeling so alone and was sarting to feel aleinanted for the rest of the world. Most of my familey and friends are dead. I can count the rest on one hand. I was seriously depressed. Then one day the card came and the next day they stared pouring in. And it continued  more and more. I recieved over 100 cards. I haven't had this many all my life. You don't know me .....but you love me. Unconditionaly and without reason. Thank you. Thank you for showing me people do care, that the spirit of Christmas isn't lost and beat down by materalism and corporations feeding off people's wallets and putting people in dept. Thank you for be willing to do for me what I can't do for myself....love me. You prove the fact that who we are esotericly is not what most of socitey sterotypes as. Your love and kindness has rained down apon me. It has flooded around me and drowned out my sorrows. And now the cards have stoped and tide is receiding. But my pain is washed away and I am at .....Peace.

        You saved my life

        love. Mike R.

Hello Mike,

I think you may need to borrow some other hands, and feet and whatever else you can find... ... to count the number of family and friends you have now in your new family.

Welcome to this board. Keep coming back.

I hope 2007 is a wonderful new year for you. Keep working this program....more miracles to come!

Yours in Recovery,
David

First, congratulations on walking your path of recovery.  Hope that you will continue & find the peace, serenity & love of yourself that we are all working towards.

Second, so glad you were touched by the cards - It was a small way of us saying "thanks" for the many blessings we have received in our recovery.

Third, Welcome to the MIP forum.  Glad that you posted this message.  Hope that you will continue to keep in touch & let us know how things are going with you.

Learning to live Happy, Joyous & Free - One Day at a time,

Rita

Welcome to MIP board!  I'm so glad you enjoyed the cards!  May you have a peace and comfort in knowing that you are not alone.

I am married to a recovering alcoholic, who has been sober now for almost 21 months.  That is a miracle in itself!

God bless,

Kathi

(((((((((((Mike)))))))))))))))))) <---------hugs,

I am choked up reading your post.  Wow, WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Each day that a new miracle is happening is another day that ALCOHOL IS LOSING THE WAR it wages on individual's and their families.

ODAT keep at your program!!  That's all we have is today.  You, like us, are not alone in the ravages of this disease but if you keep coming, keep working your program, reaching out, not letting the disease get you alone, you will succeed.

yours in recovery,

Maria123

Dear Mike,

Thanks so much for making the effort to come here and say "thank you". Your willingness to share your gratitude helps us, just as we may have helped you. That's what it's all about in these programs - helping each other, which means all of us need to practice being willing not just to offer help, but also to receive it.

You have helped me today - thank you.

Welcome Mike!

It never ceases to amaze me how giving away part of ourselves benefits both parties.  When I saw the names and addresses for cards I didn't think twice about sending them.  Now to read your post you have given back to me ten times more than I gave to you by that little card that I made and sent.

Keep moving forward and now you can always say with utmost sincerity "I am never alone and I am loved just for who I am."

Yours in recovery

Mobirdie

The cards may have stopped, but the love and support we feel for you and the others in the house will always continue. Remember you are never alone.  This is a Miracles in Progress board and there is enough love and support for all who seek it.

As the wife of a recovering A (8 months this month ), I can tell you that you can do this.  In time you will learn to love yourself.  Remember you are not a bad person.  You have a disease.  But in your heart there is always love for yourself and fellow humans.

Love and blessings to you and all who seek recovery. Happy New Year!

Live strong,

Karilynn, Sober Hubby and Pipers Kitty <--- the cat

Welcome!  Yes, as Kari said, the cards may have stopped, but that doesn't mean the care and concern have.  You are in my prayers.

Hope to see you here more often.  We need all the Experience, Hope, and Strength we can get, too, ya know!

Love in Recovery,

Becky1

You are very welcome Mike. You are not alone and I am glad you came here to say thank you. It is funny how it comes back in spades to us also. Congratulations on your continued recovery. My son is in recovery now also, it is indeed a miracle.

Hugs to ya,

Doxie

Mike,

What a thoughtful thing to do by writing this thank you for the cards you received at Christmas.

Never forget, you are never alone.  I feel honored to know someone like you who is willing to learn for maybe the first time what peace, calm and serenity is really all about.

Confession, the cards I mailed to you in the recovery house was the best part of my holiday! It was a gift to me too.  I knew out of all the things anyone did or said, gave or received... nothing could mean more then being able to make contact with you guys.

Mike, keep up the good work.  My son has been sober now for going on three years.  He's only 31, now owns a home (instead of moving from rental to rental) has a lovely wife (instead of the struggling relationships he was in before) has two amazing kids ( that adore and respect and love him) and a job that pays with a bonus at Christmas.

Mike, everyday is a new chance to change your history.  You are living proof of that.

Love  your post, welcome home.
