New Years Eve

I was wondering if all people were a bit worried because it is New Years Eve-and all the drinking etc. I hope and pray no one is killed by drunken drivers and everyone is safe. Does anyone else have abit of apprehension about tonite?

my apprehension (FEAR) as you put it,

is that i would HAVE to control everyone's drinking so i can CONTROL the outcome of this night's partying -- i only have control of cj, and he's going to a meeting tonight, then home for a lovely night with Zoey (the neurotic Ger Shep), Tex (the white/brown bundle of kitty ornery-ness), Shelby (the fat-cat with much self-centered lovingness), and Kassie (the goofiest, goofball can't-help-but-smile then clean up her poop ferret).

brightest blessings!!!!

((((((((Meagain)))))))),

I always worry about that because I work with many young people.  I have old wounds from several years ago when I came home from work and found hubby trashed with his friends from rehab. One girl took his car (she said borrowed) and stole money from me.

All I can do is say a prayer for all those out there.  May they stay safe. Let Go and Let God.  As for hubby, he's in bed, sober and I'm going to join him soon. Pipers Kitty will come in about 2am.  Amazing how things change in a few years.  Happy New Year to you.

Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,

Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

So that I don't have to worry, I make Plan A and Plan B.

Plan A is my children stay wherever they go on New Year's Eve. Plan B is I pick them up if they decide to come home because I am very keenly aware of all my surroundings while I drive.

I can't control anyone else, but I can control me and my loved sons.

Keep coming me,
Maria123

Here are some things that have helped me since in the program.

  • Go face to face meeting & online meeting.

  • post on the board here on the site. I have gotten a lot of good feed back.

·        In this program u learn that u have choices. In Alanon we don’t give advice but only suggestions.

·        Set support system.  people do not judge. You need someone who can go for coffee on a bad day, or pick up a phone and call when in trouble. The support is what is important when you first this program.

  • Have a sponsor. Someone work one on one with you.

You don’t have to do this the minute u come to the program but I suggest that u do it when u can. It help.

Meeting schedule: meetings are in here and run approximately 90 minutes from: Monday-Friday, 9 am and 9 pm EST, Saturday: 10 am and 9 pm EST, Sunday: 10 am and 7 pm EST. Topics are selected by participants at meeting time. UK +5 hours, central -1 hour, mountain -2 hours, pacific -3 hours. Open chat all other times.
