Well how do I feel Today. OMG I feel brilliant, wonderful, fantastic, and more, much more. Today I became an OP In the chat room, and It made me realise something, I got here because I worked to get It. I listened, shared, learned, worked my programme, helped others, made myself available to people. I was there when they needed support, encouragement, and a friend.
For the first time In a VERY long time I worked to achieve something because I wanted It, and needed It. It meant so much to me. The term OP means what. Well to me It's a name, but not only a name, It's not the Boss, because Al-Anon does not have any bosses,(except John lol).
To me It means I'm committed to this chat room, I have put myself In a position of being trusted by members, to keep them safe In the room, to be there for them all hours of the day, to listen to them, share with them, and help them in anyway I can, unconditionally.
I worked the meeting last night with David (ty), and I was SCARED, all the OLD feelings came back, OMG I can't do this, I will stuff this up, I'm not good enough, who do you think you are Ally, But hey guess what. I had David, Dolph and Shad just a PM away, and together they got me through it. I felt really pleased with Ally (she's not that bad really) (lol).
So tonight was a valuable lesson for me, I saw just how far I have come In a year. I am no longer the same person I have been all my life. I have some self worth In my life, self esteem, confidence, laughter, PATIENCE, and I have time to put everyone before myself In a controlled way. Before I put them first and I suffered, I have a balance between the two now.
I would like to thank all my friends In the room, I am very well respected (i think)(lol), I always get a BRILLIANT reception when I log Into the room, It's really weird to have people feel a connection with you, and I would NOT change It for a million.
This place has been a life saver for Ally, she knows where shes been, where she Is now, and hopefully with the help of you guys where shes's gonna end up. (Ally's comming to America, rofl) Gotch roomies lol
To my new OP FAMILY, thanks for the GREAT welcome, I appreciated It. DOLPH, lol try It now hen.(lol). Skydome, shadow, kerry a BIG thank you, could NOT have done It without you guys.
The last few days I have had some really cool convo's In chat with a variety of people, I now have a real empathy with them all, I have a better understanding and Im looking farward to meeting new friends In the chat room.

You have come so far in a short time always smiling even when things have not been always going your way, using the prog and friends from the chatroom has what has got us all through.
And yes you are very well respected cos your worth it and you earned it,(now will you beleieve me) sure it wasnt always easier with the scots language barrier lol

You did great last night. It's okay to have tons of questions. LOL, just ask shad how many I asked her, and still do. We are all a work in progress and the ins and outs of being an OP does take time to learn. I remember the first time I asked the room for topics, and someone suggested a topic that I knew what she meant, but I couldn't figure out how to word it so that it would be clear to everyone. I pm'd shad and she siad why don't you just say it like this. And I thought to myslef, now why couldn't I think of that, but you learn.
So keep the questions coming, we know you got them . We will teach you in the very gentle and loving way that we were taught. Just wait for the fist time you send the wrong hot key into the room. LOL, hmmmmmmmm shad this is bringing back memories for me. I did that alot, and still do lol.
Oh yeah my worst OP mistake. I came into a meeting I think it was just last week or the week before. And poor danz was chairing and I think Joanie was getting the door. I went to de-op myself, and I de-op'd danz. I didn't do that once, but I think twice. All I know was that someone had to de-op because my eyes and mouse weren't working together that night. LOL I felt so bad and I still do, but mistakes happen.
But really thanks for stepping up and OPing. I had to leave last night and it was great to know that there is someone else out there to help out in the room.
