Smokeless - doing the happy dance

Ok been A LONG TIME coming but it is time. I have been thinking alot about quitting smoking. I have smoked off and on since I was 15. For whatever reason I would pick them back up. Well as of today I have been 33 hours smoke free. All of the sudden I just didn't want them or feel like I needed them anymore. I have several factors in my life telling me to quit my son, my doctors, my family, my friends. I just never had the courage to do it before now. What am I going to do for me with the money I have saved. I don't smoke much but I will never-the-less will save some money on ciggies I won't be buying anymore. I have done it cold turkey so far no patch or pills yet. Only times I have done this before was when I was sick with a bug or the flu and never wanted a cig. I am not sick and I feel GREAT!   So far in this program I have learned to be the real me inside. To show love and to know I am worthy to be loved. To know I am beautiful inside and out. That I have strength and courage inside that I never knew exsisted. That I am a fun person just forgot how to have fun for me. Most of all I deserve and have a right to be happy and show myself love because I am worth it. I know I will have bad days but it is how I pick myself up and start on my journey again that makes this journey so wonderful.

Congratulations!!

This weekend my daughter & her girls came for a visit.  Everytime my Mom would go to the back porch to smoke, my 16 month old granddaughter, Bella Grace would shake her finger at my Mom and tell her to "Stop It".  So even the little ones know we shouldn't smoke.

Great job on doing something healthy for you - hope that you will be able to keep up the good work.

Rita

thanks for your words of encouragement. I guess I should say what brought me to this point too. I was in an online game room, and I had said something to a player in the room. I couldn't believed what I had just typed to this player. It was something that my A would say to me. I felt awful and ashamed of my behavior. So it got me to thinking I am a work in progress and I need to make changes in my life. Starting with me and becoming healther in every way. Never really paid much attention to how many ways my HP lets me see things until now.

RTexas- LOL I am a long way from being anyones sponser. But I will be there to encourage you when you are ready.

Rita- Your post is the reason I wrote what I wrote above. I had that happen to me in an online game room.

Ollie- I wish you lots of luck with your recovery. I have been where you are at, it is a hard and bumpy road but you are worth it. This is wonderful and a powerful step to taking your life back. CONGRADULATIONS.... I will say an extra prayer for you and ES&H.
