Still having trouble

I am still having trouble getting into the chatroom. Was there last night after work, but can't get in this morning for meeting. It says I have been banned, something about my IP being on a "blacklist."

I have absolutely no clue what is going on or why. Anothe person said they experienced similar problems. Is there any way to correct this??? It seems to be happening often. I have been here for 4 years off & on, steadyily for 2 with the same ISP! NOw this just started!

Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Debbie

Debbie,

Are you using mIRC or Java? I found when I downloaded an updated Java (free), it worked again. I can so relate to your frustration. It happened to me a year and a half ago.

I hope it works for you.

Your being on a blacklist has nothing to do with this site. What it usually is related to is email spamming. Alot of spam email programs automatically send spam email back to its original sender in order to flood them out, and to the mail server you are using this looks like you are the one sending spam, not the one getting it.

Another way to get blacklisted is if your computer has a virus worm in it, that is sending out balk emails to everyone on your contact list, so it looks like it is coming from you, and again, your mail server is identified as source of spam and gets put on a block. (blacklisted)

There is a way to identify what server you are using is blacklisted and get it removed.

This information is on a site article called "How To Get Off An Email Blacklist". You should go to it, read it and send in the information it requires to get taken off the blacklist.
