Nov I will be in Alanon for two years. At this present time in my life I feel very distance from Alanon. Which is not good. I can't get my self together to work my steps or even go to face to face meetings. My private computer has been down since aug 19 and I haven't been able to get on the internet at night like i used too. I have now started to separte my self from others. I haven't been able to run the meeting because I don't have any of the scripts. I have to have a techian come out to fix my laptop.

I hate that you are having a difficult time in your recovery journey - please don't give up. Apply the "Fake it, til ya make it" - if you don't have the strength - borrow some of our strength. We need you - we all need each other.
For me I can't do this recovery thing alone - if I isolate, I lose - I will get caught up in old behaviors, old thought patterns and start beating myself up again losing all the self-esteem I worked so hard to get.
Please keep coming back - You are worth it - You deserve the miracle of recovery and we would miss you very much. Keep reaching out for help - we are here to help.

I was wondering how things were going with the "You Are Not Alone March convention" people. Good to hear from you again. Please keep in touch whenever possible. We are thinking of you. Have you heard from Megan? others?
There's two conventions in Nov - AA in Framingham MA and AlAnon in Nashua NH. Any chance you can make either one?
Just remember that the program is here and waiting for you when you are ready. As they say, when the student is ready the teacher will appear. After 14 years in the program there have been periods of time when I have been strong in my program and other periods of time that I was just skimming by. I have been fortunate enough to have f2f meetings to continue to go to and even though the only time I have missed my f2f meetings was due to illness or family emergency there are times that I felt that I was just showing up. But... after a time I would pick myself up and get back into the saddle per se. I hope the same will hold true for you.
I think you are being too hard on yourself.. I think we all take the I can do it alone attitude then we realize we cant and come running back.. At least for me ..

Nycbt: I remember when I first came here and you were so helpful to me and had so many great suggestions. YOu were such an enormous help and an inspiration. I remember how patient and loving and kind and firm you were to newcomers. I know you are a fantastic moderator. I hope your computer issues clear up soon and you are back on track.
We all go through lulls, times we feel that we just can't get it together. Times like these are when we need Alanon the most.
I know for me when I get into the dumps, I have to just drag myself to a meeting. I come up with a million excuses not to go, but forcing myself is worth it.
Be kind to yourself and give you a meeting. You deserve it.

Always first to offer sweet compassion to someone new, and patience to those struggling to learn. We know you are having technical difficulties, but your heart is perfect. Sometimes it may seem that you are drifting away from your goals when your communication abilities are challenged. But there really is no going backwards on your progress; once your heart learns helpful tools, it never forgets again. Two years is a very significant amount of time to be committed to any program; and your growth has shown so well.
Remember, whatever you are going through, you are going THROUGH it. :) There's another side, and on it is happiness, serenity, and bliss.
I know exactly how you feel. I quit going to my f2f about 4 months ago. I have not even been in the chat room here. I read the posts and the C2C if I am feeling like I am going down that road again. I do not currently have an active A in my life. So I have felt out of place and not able to comfort those in need. So I have been keeping my al-anon close to my chest so to speak.
