ODAT is my friend today

Today I am carrying around my ODAT (One Day at a Time in Al-Anon book). I feel too weak to run errands by myself so "she" will be my friend for the day. Do you ever get that feeling like you are the only person in the world that understands your thoughts and feelings? And that you are isolated and completely alone? I do, and it is scary and sad. My ODAT helps me not to feel so alone. When I start thinking of negative thoughts and feelings I will open it up, find the emotion I am feeling in the index and read a page. And if reading one page isn't enough, I'll read and read until I feel better. Even if it's the whole darn book!

Just thought I would share

I carry our magazines in my purse for that purpose. That way before work (some of the peopel there aren't too cool) I feel as if the love of the program is enveloping me. Cheering me on. GO SARAH GO! Kinda thing. That might help.

(((Strong)))

That is such a great thing to do. I have a huge bag that I tote with me everywhere, with all kinds of books in it, Courage to Change, Getting Them Sober, and printouts from this page.  I have to read them over and over also to calm myself down.  That is what we need, to be reassured and comforted in our crazy lives right now.

Thanks for the reminder to all!!!  Have a nice weekend!

Love, HeidiXXXX

There is great reassurance in the readings, Strong, and I am happy to hear that you are benefitting from them. Keep up the good work, Diva
