I spent a fair amount of time working in restaurants and bars, and, yeah, it seems that everybody who hangs out at the bar is a drinker - go figure, eh?

I think that is one of the reasons that it took me so long to realize that my husband had a problem with drinking - half the people I knew spent every day in the bar, it didn't seem unusual. Working in a casino you probably also spend time with a lot of people with gambling issues.

Good for you for realizing that this is making you uncomfortable, and listening to yourself on that. Good luck with the job search, keep us up to date.

Hi Rhonda,

Glad to meet you!  I'm originally from Indiana, but I have lived in Tennessee since '83.  So we were practically neighbors!

I'm glad you are here...I hope you find lots of friends, as well as strength, from everyone here.  It's nice that you are wanting to change your life by trying to find a job that doesn't involve alcoholics.  I wish you well finding a different job.

I have an 18 year old daughter.  She is also my pride and joy, altho at times she challenges me beyond what I ever thought possible!  I am married to a sober alcoholic.  He's been sober 2 years/4 months August 19.  (Yeah!)

I hope you visit us in the chatroom sometime!

Kathi
