Service to the HP

Well, those of you that live in the Cincinati, Ohio area, have probably heard the news of little Marcus Feisel has been missing for more than 24 hours. (For those of you not in the Cincinnati area, news link here)

This morning at about 7am, and little sleep, the phone rings. It's yhe As' dad. He wants to know if I would like to go with him and join the search for him. I jumped at the chance. I know that he must be very scared, hungry, and tired. We get there, and we are paired up into teams. Within those teams, we are divided into sub-teams, and then in the sub-teams we are paired up with a partner that we're to be no farther than eyesight away from in case anything happens or anything.

After waiting an hour or so to find a team leader, we head out by bus to search an area. We had people in our team ranging from current military to retired Principals! People were bringing their pets, other children, all kinds of things. My partner and I were in charge of searching the woods, tromping through the creeks and things of that nature. In the course of the search for little Marcus, I ripped my pants, ruined my shoes, got stung by a bee, multiple misquito bites, cuts, scrapes, bruises, almost bit by a dog a couple of times, and another one of the younger members of the team tried to feel me up. LOL

We got back to the search HQ and local eateries had brought in food. There was pizza, sandwiches, chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, muffins, cookies, soda, coffee, water... you name it, it was probably there! The news is on in the background right now and he has been missing for 30 hours. It's not looking too good.

But you know, even though it was tough, and sort of emotional, I felt good. I felt good that I was out there doing something for someone else! We may not have found him, but, we ruled out places that he might have been.

I just thought I would share my good deed for today.

And any of you that ARE in the Cincinnati area, please keep an eye out for Marcus

This is a mother's worst nightmare. Regardless if shes bio, step, foster or guardian.   My sons name is Marcus and the picture of Marcus Feisel reminds me of my bfs 1st born son.

I will keep little Marcus Feisel in my prayers and pray they find him soon.

They're slowing down the search efforts tonight around 8. They were out there till 2am this morning, and alot of the ones that were there at 2 were back out there at 7 when I got there. It's just very sad. I wish that there was more that I could do.

That's awesome you were able to do that.  Its so sad how many of our children being hurt.  I live in Florida and we have had our share just this week.  I'll keep Marcus in my prayers.
