Wide Open Spaces...

Howdy everyone:

Hope everyone is doing well.  I am back from Wyoming and it was such a peaceful, wonderful trip I just can't believe it!  What a wonderful place.  I live in Colorado and have driven through WY once, it was not too exciting.

But, this time my Mom and her husband and I drove around a lot more, and there is a wonderful beauty to all of the places we saw.  It is such wild country, wide open skies that you just wouldn't believe!!!  Blue blue, and the coolest clouds stretching as far as you can see.  Wide open plains with anteloupe grazing on them, then amazing canyons, red rock, and mountains.  We saw buffalo like right next to the car!!!  They were a little too close for comfort, but I got great pictures.  We went into old museums that were free in every town they were in, they had old arrowheads, dinosaur bones and prints, old western antiques.  Then a couple of really cool towns that had natural hot springs, Thermopoulis and Saratoga.  What fun, really, and I was kind of dreading it.  What a great getaway.  I didn't really think about A too often, except to think at times that it would have been great to have him with me, we really love traveling together (when he's okay) and he is so much fun on trips.

Anyway, just a narrative of my road trip.  It is so nice to appreciate different places and see how other people live in our world.  I was kind of in culture shock yesterday driving into Colorado, the highways getting more and more crowded.

I definitely daydreamed on this trip of packing my life up, and moving to a small town somewhere in Wyoming, and disappearing where no one knows me and I wouldn't have the painful times of this relationship.

It was good to see AH last night, and I was calm and mellow.  His face is swollen, ear is bleeding, and has a huge horrific black eye from going to his daughter's apartment and kicking out her boyfriend.  I guess the boyfriend was just "hanging out" after they had broken up, just pretty much sponging off of her.  AH went over there and told him to get out and I guess they threw punches.  I am so glad I missed all of that drama!!!

Anyway, have a great day, hope everyone is doing well.  I can't tell you how important getting away is, I am at peace now for a while!  I must carry with me that peace and calm and remember it for when I feel enraged again!!!

Love, HeidiXXXX

Aloha Heidi...and thanks for the wonderful share.   Happy that you could get intouch with all the spiritual things HP provides along with the eyes to see it.    Yep the drama is always there on the other side of the picture.  All you gotta do is decide which side to focus on heh?

I hope you keep the peace and serenity of your trip close inside of you so that you can go there whenever you desire.

(((((hugs)))))

Great post hersh.  As I was reading, I could see what you described, the open spaces, the blue skies.  How wonderful for you to have that escape for a while.  Clears the mind, centers the soul.  Reminds us of all the beauty we so often miss, caught up in our pain and panic of living with A's.  Or even just pain and panic of living with ourselves!

I sometimes think I would have loved to have lived on the plains, had myself a little soddy shack, a cow, some chickens, etc.  I often long for a simpler life.  I picture myself sitting around creating beautiful quilts, having a simple meal cooked from scratch.  Ah to daydream is wonderful.  Let me know if you ever decide to pull up stakes and head for those beautiful hills.  I might be right behind you!

Love in Recovery,

Becky1
