room moderator

ok so i'm not sure if its ok to say this, but i just won't use names

there is a room moderator that has become very rude

i'm not sure if i offended them in some way or wat, but everytime i say something, they either question it, act like i'm lying, or say i'm being innapropriate while i'm telling stories about someone else in my life

its becoming ridiculous, so if anyone has any advice please let me know

everytime i try to say something they ignore me or kick me

Mira,

First off, I think that if you are having a problem with an OP, you should pm them first. Not take it out into the public forum.

Second, if you don't feel that there has been an appropriate resolution, then the next step would be to take it to John.

Please remember that OP's are volunteers and that they are human to. We are there to help keep the chatroom alanon focused. Also the fact that we can't see eachother face to face leads to misunderstandings at times. We are not perfect, I know I never claim to be, and can make mistakes at times.

Remember this is all my opinion, take what you like and leave the rest.

Yours in recovery,

Dolphin123

(((Mira)))

I can't get into chat from work, so I've never been in there, but I would offer that enforcing the "rules" for online meetings has to be a very tough thing to do.

I was asked one time to referree a baseball game of my sons once.  Now baseball was never my sport, and of course I knew how it went, but the specifics ... the details I didn't know.  I told them that before I walked on the field, but nobody else would do it and the kids wanted to play.

So I did it and parents where screaming at me from the stands!  This was an game with 8 year olds.  When one of them started cussing, I stopped the game (I knew how to do that LOL) and walked up in the stands.  This guy thought I was going up there to stomp the air out of his lungs.  (so did my son... he was mortified...)

I handed him the chest protector and facemask and sat down right next to him.  Said "ok chief, you do it."

Now he had no reason to be upset about the game.  Everyone in chat has a great reason for being very emotional, we are all here getting help for a horrable disease.  Even the moderators.   I'm sure nobody was trying to be mean, if you let them know in private I bet they will have some good answers for what happened.

Don't give up on this wonderful tool because of a bad experience.  We need you here!

Take care of you!

i hope everyone knows that i'm doing this to upset or embarass the person, that's why i didn't use names.

and the thing is, i did pm this person and they kept ignoring me, so i didn't know what else to do

i understand that the job is not easy at all

i just expect some common courtesy, and it seems that they went over the line

however i will take the advice and email john
