((((Hi Everyone))) hope all is welll and a good weekend is being had by all.

As some of you know, I have been struggling with whether I am or am not an alcoholic.

Well, I know in my heart and soul I am.

I went to an AA meeting last night and said, my name is G and I am an alcoholic. Wow, the words just rolled out. I didnt doubt them. Before in meetings, I could never bring myself to say it, just that I was a member of al anon.

Anyway, I have been around relatives in recovery and AA, for years and Al Anon for a little over a year. I knew that alcholism is a disease and its not how much or how often just what happens when we drink. Well, I couldnt deny what happens to me nor the impending progression. I have a high bottom, never been to jail, maintain my job, kids, family, etc. but when I drank I lost myself. I look back over the years and wonder why I didnt see it sooner. I somehow managed to surround myself with others who drank a heck of alot more than me....Ha! Talk about keeping the focus on me.

I know there will be peaks and valleys but living the 12 steps and my HP in my life, I know I am ok.
But I just wanted to say thanks for the support. I love you guys!

sometimes it's so hard to take inventory of ourselves.  But when we do, it can feel good to know we are on the right track.

Hi beach...

How very fortunate, that you are already involved in a 12 step program upon realizing and admitting your own alcoholism... Makes for a bit less frightening experience when starting out... you already know deep down that you are loved and accepted... even if YOU don't believe it 100% of the time...

Looking forward to sharing both legs of this same journey with you!!!

((((((((((Beachbaby)))))))))))),

So glad that you are on the path of self-discovery, just remember that you are never alone. You have your alanon family and now i am sure you have that family of AA to welcome you into their arms.

Yours in recovery,

Dolphin123
